Good morning doctor,

I would like to talk with you about your Iron deficient and anemic patients. As you know it is the most
frequent deficiency in the world. According to the WHO studies, half of your patients are in iron
deficiency anemia, especially among premenopausal or pregnant or post-partum women, children
and elderly patients.

3 main causes are responsible of this lack of iron:

- Increase of Losses, for instance during a delivery or Heavy Uterine Bleeding or a surgery
- Increase of Need, during pregnancy or child growth
- Decrease of Intake in patients treated for instance with PPI’s or with any defection of their
gastro intestinal mucosa

Before the stage of anemia, your patients can meet many consequences of their iron deficiency such
as asthenia, a decrease of cognition and intellectual performance, retardedness in childhood,
alteration of immunity functions, alteration of fertility in women who wants to be pregnant and
anorexia.

Once they have reach the stage of anemia, which is the final consequence of ID, they can present
among others cardiovascular issues, risk of transfusion, vertigo, fall and confusion in elderly patients.

Any of your patient can suffer from ID or IDA and a recovery of iron store permits to treat these
symptoms and helps avoiding these consequences.

A convenient and easy solution to recover iron stores is the medicine I would like to present you
today: Ferplex®, The Iron Protein Succinylate or IPS, an efficient and safe oral iron complex. It is a
European produced drug. It exists for 20 years in many countries around the world and for several
years it is the number one product in Spain, its original country.

Ferplex® is a convenient solution for iron deficiency and Iron deficiency anemia and it is still

Indeed, Ferplex® mechanism of action is original and allows a liberation and an absorption of the iron
in the optimal conditions. The liberation of the iron from its complex occurs in the duodenum
