Composite service for Combining TDM & CES

Hi,

Today I want to share a case for combining 2 services with Composite

services.

-The migration from  a technology to another is a critical situation as it need a

transit steps to swap traffic gradually with no long traffic cut.

- The scenario is about combining 2 different services one working in pure

Ethernet form and the other works in pure TDM form.

The Scenario for Combining TDM & CES

In this scenario we connect some branch Exchange sites and 3G mobile sites
still use (TDM) E1s with Central Exchanges and BSC which use TDM
(STM-1) as aggregation for these branches & BTS.

But as we upgraded all the branch sites to be PTN (OSN1800I) we use CES
(Circuit Emulation service) for sending TDM to the aggregation sites
(OSN1800V) then we connect the aggregation sites via CQ1 boards to the
SDH (OSN7500) via SLT1boards then through SDH network to Central
Exchanges and BSC , The connection point will be the CQ1 to SLT1 which
must be connected by patch cord.
The Connection Steps

The connection include 2 steps:-

 1) Packet (CES) from the branch site (OSN1800I) to the aggregation site
(OSN1800V) here for example we used the VC12 no. 37 in the CQ1.

2)Pure TDM in the SDH network from BSC or Central Exchange to the
connection point STM1 in the SLT1 board (we must use the same VC12 that
we used in the CQ1 (37) and in this example the VC12 sink will be the 3G
BSC STM1 connected to the SDH OSN7500 17-SLT1-10 –(33) .
-Until now we have 2 separated services providing one single E1, if we know
the source of the service (here is board MD1-8) we need to follow the
configuration point by point to get the sink , as there is no single trail
combine both configurations, We need composite service to combine them
together.

3)- Search composite service to combine the 2 services

The search can find the connection and create the relation.

Service>Composite service>Search for composite Service

Choose (SDH+PWE3) then start.

-  Now you can get the information of the both ends of the service even if they
were in 2 different forms , exactly as when browsing a trail.

- To go to the related composite of PWE3 service go from the page of Manage
PWE3 Service right click on any service and choose Jump TO Composite
Service to go directly.
