Southwest monsoon- June to sept.
The rainv season in kerala is the southwest monsoon(edavapathi).
Winds from south-west, bearing water vapor, begin to blow from the
oceans. It is the monsoon that provides almost 85% of the rains.
North-east monsoon- Oct. to Dec
The retreating monsoon/ reverse monsoons. This hits kerala when the
southwest monsoon winds take their return. (thulavarsham) . The
main feature of this season is heavy rains during afternoon together
with lightening and thunder.
