ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

IN GULAYAN SA PAARALAN

S.Y 2022-2023

I. Introduction

Gulayan sa Paaralan is one of the best Avenues on how we can improve learning. Why? Simply,
utilizing school gardening for supplementary feeding program can be a tool in aiding the major reasons
why learners drops out of school-Poverty, hunger and malnutrition.

Aside from implementing school gardening for the purpose of feeding program is inculcating among
learners the values of good health and nutrition, industry, love of labor and caring for others.
Furthermore, this will teach them how to improve their nutritional status, learning where food comes
from and planting promotes beautification of their environment. It is also serves as a good simulating
activity in which they will learn leadership and rendering good service. As a matter of fact, planting as
one of the livelihood skills that learners will acquire in school can be applied and replicated in their
households.

As they say, school is a miniature society. Hence it is but the reflection of the community and at times
the type of community relies of what is being showcased in the school as such, the school gardening is a
good example. It introduce to the community small scale food production which will somehow elevate
their perspective about food security, health awareness and income generating project. It will raise the
level of the public consciousness on the nutritional dimensions and economic benefits.

II. Objectives:

1. To promote vegetable production in the school campus


2. To establish and maintain gardens as ready food source of vegetables
3. To include learners, the values of gardening, good health and malnutrition, love of labor and
caring for others.

III. Accomplishments:

IV. Highlight
The GPP Coordinator spearheaded the program with the support of our School Principal Mr. Pacifica
C. Tamayo Jr and all teaching staff of Matuguinao National High School. The Grade 12 TVL-Agri crop
students helped us to cleaned and prepared the area especially in cutting the grasses, plowing and
pulverizing the soil mixing it with garden soil and other organic fertilizer. They also prepared diffent
vegetables seedlings and seeds like Okra, petchay, eggplant, bell pepper, Sitaw, squash, and etc. after
few months/weeks, they grew and ready for planted.

The parents especially the 4P’s members were also tapped to maintain the area in cutting the weeds
and constructed fence through series of Pentakasi.

As the vegetables are ready for harvest, the vegetables were used to generate income and learners who
are malnourished were given to supplement the needs in feeding program.

V. Conclusion

The Gulayan sa Paaralan shall be implemented in every school not only in the District of Matuguinao
but also in the entire Philippines regardless of ample or limited area.let us be work to improved and
increase vegetable production in school by teaching the learners the methods of sustainable production
of food which are applicable to their homes and important in honing their skills in agriculture. Let us
utilize school gardening in improving the education of the Young ones through supplementary giving of
harvested vegetables to target beneficiaries and generate income to fund necessary activities. Let our
school be the model of cleanliness and greenes in our community
