PROJECT PROPOSAL

II. Background/Problem Statement
The Department of Education required every school to put up a productive
and successful vegetable garden under the Gulayan sa Paaralan Program. GPP is
also online with Deped memorandum no. 223 series of 2016, entitled
“Strengthening the implementation of the GULAYAN SA PAARALAN PROGRAM
(GPP)”. This program is a part of the national effort to ensure the development
and nutrition among Filipino students by providing the needed vegetable for
school feeding program and to ensure the quality of education surpassing the
malnutrition among students. It also aims to boost awareness of the students on
the significance of growing vegetables.
The Gulayan sa Paaralan Program of Matuguinao National High School is a
project that will give or sustain the nutrition of malnourished students and to
improve the students skills in the field of Agriculture, particularly those who are
studying Agricultural crop production/Horticulture.By implementing the gulayan
sa paaralan it serves as the laboratory Facilities, it is beneficial to agri. Crop
students and other specialization in Grade 7-10 and most especially to the Grade
11 and 12 under TVL-Agri crop Production could also use their actual practice of
the basic, common and core competencies in preparation for their NC II
assessment.
Matuguinao National High School wants to be helpful and efficient to the
students for lifelong skills. Thus, we need to introduce positive ways and
programs to broaden the skills of our students.
III. Goals and Objectives
Matuguinao National High School aims to develop the skills of the students
in Agri crop Production through implementation of GPP. This can be achieved, to
wit;
1. Introduce basic agricultural crop production with GPP
2. Conducting activities and laboratory
3. Strengthening the skills of the students in agricultural crop production
IV. Target Outputs
 Broaden the skills of the students in Agricultural crop production through hands on
laboratory with the use of hand tools
 Sustain the planting of vegetables and other high valued crop in the school garden.
