Objectives

At the end of this module participant will be able to:

• Get access and use to NOLS and NED to find technical document for
specific product, such as technical note or alarms description & solution

• Use Product Information Center (PIC) to find product information, technical

note, download software delivery, Change Delivery (CD), check software
delivery schedule and compare important parameter between 2 software
release

• Use NSN Electronic Documentation (NED) online and install NED offline
and add NED libraries

• Open online help from NetAct from TLUI

NSN Electronic Documentation (NED) is a web application

software that allows us to manage documentation of specific
NSN products and browse the content easily.

NED can be access by

- Online : via NOLS webpage (no installation required)
- Offline : by download and install NED browser and NED
libraries on you PC

Top Level User Interface (TLUI)

NetAct. From the TLUI or any
other application in NetAct you 1

documentation in 2 ways:

1. From the drop-down menu you

can select Help >
Documentation. This launches
the full NetAct version of NED.

Accessing alarm information from Alarm Monitor
Alarm Monitor is an application used to display current (“live”) alarms in the NetAct
system. Alarm History is used to display current/historical alarm information
stored in the NetAct alarm database.

From these applications you can

quickly and easily access useful alarm
information:

1. Double click on the alarm to get the
basic alarm dialogue information
(including supplementary fields) 2

2. Click on the books icon to open the

full alarm manual page giving an
explanation about the specific alarm
and how to resolve the underlying
fault.
