Aelia was initailly planning to offer her aid to the wounded or offer council to

those of unsteady minds. She war ready to deal with obstinage men and cocky
officers. She certainly was not ready to see creatures made of pure darkness rise
up on the walls and start assaling thier defendors. Aelia considered herself to be
not among those faint of heart, but seeing these unnatural creatures send cold
terror through her spine. The soldiers were running in panic at the face of such
eldrich attack. Green man and veterans alike threw down thier weapons and jumped
over stairs to get away form the creatures of darkness.

What happened next came naturally to her. Shaking of the cold grip of fear she
picked up one of the discarded weapons and ran up towards the writhing terrors. She
yalled at the cowerdly soldiers at the hight of her lungs. She shamed them and
called out to them to aid her, impressing her message onto thier emotion withs the
power of Presence. As she reached darkness made manifest and started hacking away
at its limbs and tentacles the men stopped. She knew that she had them at that
moment. Soon the were running back to help her.

As the shadow fiends numbers grew thin some archers on the walls spotted a shadowy
figer standing at the edge of light and chased it away with fire arrows. She
suspected the assailant to be one of the lasombra kindread, but had no way of
telling with certainty. Aelia never saw what has been done today happen before.

Since that first night fires burned brightly on the walls all around the city and
men kept an unquiet vigil through the night. Aelia found herself recongnised by the
city's defenders. Time went fast as Aelia busied herself with aiding in the defence
of Alexandria. Despire the dire situation giving orders and organizing men felt
like putting on a old and comfortable cloak. The attacks of the shadow monsters
continued to happen. Aelia stayed moblie and moved to meet such onslaughts swiftly.
Yet with time they started cutting deeper and deeper both into the morale and the
numbers of the cities defenders. In many cases the Arab forces tried to use the the
shadows attacks to thier advantage and assualt the city in area weakened by them.
Inevitably it took them time to arive in force and start stoming the walls. Aelia
would always be there. Fighting and bolstering the troops. They did not run with
her presence and time and time again the defendors advantages position allowed them
to repel attackers.
In the following attack the assailents were joined by another by of Aelia's kind.
It was obviously the kindred sorcerer responsible for these shadow monsters. A dark
and terrible figure with pure black wings that seemed to be seeping of darkness.
Shadows rose around him and lashed out at anyone close enought. No mortal fighter
dared to staind againt this being and so it came for Aelia to steel her heat, draw
the same cowerds sword she picked up and meet this thing of shadows in single
combat.
The battle was hard. It was strong and fast and it's shadow minions were
everywhere. Fortunately for Aelia the male kindred that he revield himself to be
was not a trained fighter. With blood borne strenght and toughness she was able to
fight the lasombra to a standstill. As the main threat was occupied the remaining
defenders poured rocks and arrows and boiling water on all those trying to strom
the walls. Casualties mounted and soon the strange Lasombra was forced to order a
pull back.
Such clashes continued to happen during the siege. It was starting to weight
heavily on the cities defenders. When reinforcements arrived to the Arab army Aelia
knew that the desicive battle would be happening soon and her size was at a severe
disadvantage. She never anticipated the form the battle would take.
Fires and black banners dotted the horison. As she was on the barricades preparing
the troops for what would likely be thier last stand she receaved the message that
the library was under attack. Leaving the command to mortal officers she rushed to
the library. What greeted her when she arrived was a sceane sceane strait out of
hell. Scores of kindred were rushing through once quiet and prestine halls like
rabid doges. Demonic figures walked among them. The defending mages were showing
why thier power was to be feared and respected. Already many of the assaliats had
become ash blown throught the library's corridors. But there were only so many of
them and attacking kindred outnumber them more than ten to one. Not to mention
thier demonic... servants? Masters?
Seeing an opportunity Aelia assaulted the kindred from the rear disrupting thier
attack and sowing confusion among the assailants using her skill in the
Enthrallment discipline. And yet that was not enough. There were just too many.
Help arrived form the most unexpected party. Familliar looking shadows rose around
her joined her in her attack on the rabid vampires. Soon Aelia was joined by her
half year enemy and several other kindred.
Assaulted form all sides the attacker were on the defensive. They cared none for
the library's safety. Demonic fire was flung around with wanten abandon. Fires were
starting all around. The shadows smothered out some of them, magic put out others,
but for every one gushed out two new ones would start. And yet the tide of battle
started turning. More and more of the attackers were put down. Overcome with frenzy
and Rötschreck fewer and fewer could fight any semblance of coordination. Finally
they broke and those few remaining fled into the night. But the damage was already
done. Priceless tomes where going up in flames all around them. Decades and
centuries of study and hard work were being turned to ash in seconds and the fire
only continued to spread. Even the mages powers were not enought to stop it's
spread. It's nature was not that of an ordinary fire. As if it was not terrifying
enough.
Aelia was horrified. She could not approach such rising bonefire, so she did what
she could. Calling out and gathering what mortal staff remained she orginized them
to start working on slowing the spread of fire and saving what they could.
Seeing the fires people gathered outside. While usuially hesitant of doing
something like that to innocent people Aelia bore down on them with the full might
of Enthrallment. All hands were neaded now. Those that fought beside her wall also
doing what they could to save presious knowledge.
When dawn started to approach the battle for the city was all but over. In the end
it was the mortal soldiers and commanders that decided it's course. The Great
Library was all but burned out. The mages, kine and kindred managed to save a lot
of the gathered scrolls and books, yet so much more was lost to the fires.
One day Aelia would have been decimated by such a night. But she was no longer that
young girl. She acted as she should have acted and all else was no in her power -
outside events. Pushing down the encroaching greif she turned to her enemies turned
allies and offered them to stay at her heaven nearby. The sunlight was quickly
drawng close. She did not trust them, but with the fall of Alexandria's wall it was
better to keep them close, than away. A sleepless day awated her.
