“Reflection”

“ SELF-AWARENESS”

Learning about myself helps me in a lot of ways, especially in my daily activities. Having
to get to know myself allows me to access my strengths and weaknesses. Hence it gives me the
chance to grow. It allows me to make use of my capabilities and take advantage of things that
I’m good at. On the other hand, having the knowledge of my weaknesses allows me to make a
room for improvement and enables me to develop in matters that I am not strong at.
There are many aspects in discovering oneself. In fact, according to the Johari window,
there are four parts of personal awareness. The first one is an open/ public area. Something
that both us and the people around us know. Such as the fact that my parents know a lot of
facts about me. My birthday, my name, my attitudes, my likes, my dislikes and etc. The other
part is our blind area. My friends might see me differently. They might see me as someone
who’s light and bubbly when in fact I don’t think so myself. The third part is the hidden or private
area. It's like the privacy that I give to myself. Things that only I know about. Lastly is the
unknown, or the things that I nor the people around me knows of. My future potential. Things
that I may not be able to do now but do greatly in the future.
These things are significant for me to be able to progress in life. If I were to discover
these things in my future self or improve the areas that I already know, I would be able to show
my full potential and be the person I aspire to be.

“NATURE OF HUMAN PERSON”

It is our human nature to grow and develop. In fact, I am still working on it myself. I am
someone with low self-confidence. I have very low self-esteem and according to Maslow’s
hierarchy of needs; Self-esteem and respect for ourselves are a must in order for us to be
respected by others. Theirs also love, safety, physiological, and self-actualization. In particular,
love and safety is the only factor that I have developed abundantly. In terms of self-actualization,
I still lack a little bit in terms of decision-making and accepting things in a way. On the other
while, I am also not confident in terms of physiological development. Why? It's because the only
thing that I’m maintaining right now is breathing. I don’t get to eat on time. I always forget to
drink water day by day, causing me to develop minor physical problems. I also don’t get to sleep
normally which is why I am not confident about these factors.
Nonetheless, there’s always a lot of room for improvement. Like what they always say;
practice makes perfect. I hope by doing so, I could achieve a better version of myself in the
future.
