It was during the game that they came to know about each other. They found that they had
many common thoughts and qualities that were common to them. Both of them wanted to end
the conflict and start a friendship, but the thought of being a member of the rival gang didn't
allow them to stand together.
4. Why do the boys even change the rules making it more dangerous although they are afraid
to go on with the game?
They made that game to settle the misunderstanding between their respective gangs. In their
play, no one gets a bullet, because as the event is repeated and the longer it lasts, they increase
the bullet to increase the opportunity to be selected. The bulletproof cartridge and after that,
they do.
5. Compare the relationship between the boys at the beginning of the story to how they feel
about each other at the end?
They start out as rival gang members, knowing that the other one is their enemy, but as time
goes on, as they get to know each other, and realize their similarities, they become friends, and
the perception between them changes.
6. Why do you think Danny and Tigo join gangs?
Danny and Tigo joined gangs since they were raised on the neighborhood and grew up with
them. Also, Danny’s mother didn’t enroll him in an army, so he instead joined gangs clubs. As
for Tigo, for me, he joined gang clubs only because of an influence.
7. How do Danny and Tigo start to discover what they have in common?
While playing the Russian roulette game, Danny and Tigo start to discover what they have in
common through talking and sharing things with each other. Their thoughts and loyalty towards
the gang were similar, as was their interest in guns, They both wanted to settle the conflict in a
better way. These were some of their similarities.
8. If you were Tigo, would you stop Danny in initiating the last spin? Why or why not?
If I were Tigo, I would stop Danny from initiating the last spin because fate had given them a
chance to continue their lives better without someone getting hurt, and a chance to make their
gangs at peace and stop the game because it’s the tradition of both gangs.
9. Why does Tigo keep ‘upping the odds’ by putting more bullets in the gun?
For more intensity and to speed up the game, since none of them got the cartridge with the
bullet, and also the fact that it’s the purpose of their play, adding more bullets will be the
reason to make one of them die, as per their respective gangs' wishes to happen.
10. What is the moral of the story?
Try and try until you die. Joke! As a teenager, don’t make careless decisions just because others
wish it to happen. Know first the consequences before doing things that you think are wrong.
Consider adult opinions as part of your guidance so that you won’t lose your right path in
making good decisions.
