SYNOPSIS

Title: “STUDENT RESULT MANAGEMENT

SYSTEM”

❖ Introduction:

The "Student Result Management System" will be develop to override the

problems prevailing in the practicing manual system. This software will support
to eliminate and in some cases reduce the hardships faced by this existing
system. Moreover this system is designed for the particular need of the
organization to carry out operations in a smooth and effective manner.

The application will be reduced as much as possible to avoid errors while

entering the data. It also provides error message while entering invalid data.
No formal knowledge is needed for the user to use this system. Thus by this
all it proves it will be user-friendly. Result Management System , as described
above, can lead to error free, secure, reliable and fast management system. It
can assist the user to concentrate on their other activities rather to concentrate
on the record keeping. Thus it will help organization in better utilization of
resources.

❖ Abstract:

The purpose of Result Management System is to automate the existing manual

system by the help of computerized equipments and full-fledged computer
software, fulfilling their requirements, so that their valuable data/information
can be stored for a longer period with easy accessing and manipulation of the

same. The organization can maintain computerized records without redundant

entries. That means that one need not be distracted by information that is not
relevant, while being able to reach the information.

❖ Objective:

The main objective of the Project on Result Management System is to manage

the details of Result, Student, Progress, Activity, Exam. It will manage all the
information about Result, Course, Exam, Result. The purpose of the project
is to build an application program to reduce the manual work for managing
the Result, Student, Course, Progress. It tracks all the details about the
Progress of Exam.

❖ Existing System of Result Management System:

In the existing system the exams are done only manually but in proposed
system we have to computerize the exams using this application.
• Lack of security of data.
• More man power.
• Time consuming.
• Consumes large volume of pare work.
• Needs manual calculations.
• No direct role for the higher officials

❖ Proposed System of Result Management System:

The aim of proposed system is to develop a system of improved facilities. The
proposed system can overcome all the limitations of the existing system. The
system provides proper security and reduces the manual work.
• Security of data.
• Ensure data accuracy’s.

❖ Functionalities:
The proposed system will be divided in three modules:
• Student
• Admin
• Faculty
Every module has its own functionalities and role in this system.

➢ System will have a login/register window which allows the user and admin to
create and update their login credentials.
➢ System will allow the admin to Create, Read, Update and Delete the result and
information of the student through admin dashboard.
➢ Proposed model will be a web based application which displays the result of
students via student login.
➢ System will have a separate section for notices and result updates.
➢ System Database uses Admission no. of students as a Unique/Primary Key.
➢ On this Web application portal student can fetch their result by using
Admission no. and password as their login credentials.
➢ In the proposed system Admin will act as a moderator and can handle all the
constraints defined in the project.
➢ Admin will have to approve the registration request of every teacher/faculty
member in the database which will improve the security.
➢ System will also allow the Faculty members to perform CRUD operations in
Student result with separate login id which results in effective job allocation.
➢ Result portal will have a claim option for each subject which will help the
student to claim for doubt of unfair marking.
➢ This system will be capable of calculating Percentage(%)/CGPA on basis of
marks obtained by a particular student.
➢ Through result portal Student can also download their marksheet in pdf format
if required.
