beings, goods, and services, capital, technologies or cultural practices) all
over the planet. Globalization is the promotion and increasing interactions
betwixt different regions and populations around the globe.

4. The major types of globalization

* Financial Globalization.
- Is a cluster concept that makes reference to increasing global linkages
created through cross- border financial flows.

* Economic Globalization.
- Is the growing interdependence of world economies resulting to the
expanding scale of transboundary trade of materials and services, flow of
international capital and extensive and swift escalation of technologies.

* Technological Globalization.
- speeded in large part by technological diffusion, the spread of
technology across borders. Technology is the vital force in the modern
form of business globalization. Technology has helped us in overcoming
the major hurdles of globalization and international trade such as trade
barrier, lack of common ethical standard, transportation cost and delay in
information exchange, thereby changing the market place.

* Political Globalization.
- refers to the increase of the worldwide political system, both in size and
complexity. One of the key aspects of the political globalization is the
declining importance of the nation-state and the rise of other actors on
the political scene.

* Cultural Globalization.
- Is the channelling of ideas, meanings, and values around the world in
such a way as to draw out and reinforce social relations. This procedure is
marked by the common consumption of cultures that have been
scattered by the Internet, popular culture media, and international travel.
* Sociological Globalization.
- the sharing of ideas and information between and through different
countries. Good examples of social globalization could include
internationally popular films, books and TV series.

* Ecological Globalization.
- refers to global environmental issues including: - population growth. -
access to food. - worldwide reduction in biodiversity. - the gap between
rich and poor.

* Geographical Globalization.
- refers to intensified geographical movements across national borders of
commodities, people seeking employment, money and capital
investment, knowledge, cultural values, and environmental pollutants. It
also refers to the increased interdependence among nation-states and
supranational institutions and to increased connectivity among people’s
movements for a more democratic and humane society.

5. Structures of Globalization
- A key premise of our theory is that borders hamper trade and
globalization make borders more costly. We show that political structure
adapts to expanding trade opportunities in a non-monotonic way. In early
stages, borders are removed by increasing the size of countries.
