Occurrence

UNDERSTANDING STI OCCURRENCE

Introduction: Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) have been a worldwide healthcare

problem up to this date. These diseases can be transmitted through sexual contact and other
means such as blood transfusion and pregnancy. Therefore, these diseases are one of the
problems that our society is facing. In the Philippines, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is
one of the fastest-growing epidemics in the country considering the number of cases of those

who are infected by it. In fact, the HIV prevalence in the country increased by 207% from 2010
to 2019 (Gangcuangco, 2019). To better understand the prevalence of STIs, your task is to create
a graph based on the table, interpret the data, and answer the questions stated below.
The table below shows the summary of reported cases of STIs in the United States. Use the data
in the table as you answer the following questions.
