• Adjust the coil air gap between the Leading
core edge (B) and the left pole plate of the
flywheel magnet.
• Adjust the coil air gap between the Center core
(C) and the Trailing pole-plate of the flywheel
magnet.
• Torque the left Leading edge coil bolt or stud
(B) first, and then the right Trailing edge coil
bolt or stud (D).
NOTE:
Eligible Models o The Trailing edge core (D) is not used when
making the coil air gap adjustment.
All FH, FX, FS, and FR engine models.

The ignition coil air gap adjustment should be CENTER
made as follows: CORE

(1) Install the ignition coil on the crankcase bosses


so the shut-off terminal (A) faces upward.

0.2 ~ 0.4 mm (0.008 ~ 0.016 inches)
