In your respective agency or office, to your knowledge or observation, what

are the issues and questions of Ethics that have emerged and how did your
agency or office dealt with them? Cite at least three (3) issues/questions
and explain each.

I have visited many agencies or offices to transact and there are different
observations and issues I encountered . As such;
First, the discrimination, stereotyping, and prejudice in a workplace.

The public officers or official are sometimes or often biased in giving a

services. This practices should not be accepted in our society most
especially in a public office. There is no fairness to everyone. Example of
this, when the last time I came to a certain field office (no need to
mention), I saw someone and I think she belong to an indigenous group
based on her appearance. Employees on duty don’t gave her an attention
even if she is obviously seeking for a guidance or assistance. Is it because
they be;ong to a poor segment of the society? Their right as a human is
frequently violated. There is no equal treatment. Racism, sexism, ageism,
and many unethical behaviour of an employee must be corrected.

Second, On rude public officials or employees who work at different

organization, offices, and agencies.
There must be a standard ethical behaviour or characteristics imparted to
every employee to avoid rudeness toward the people who is seeking a
service. If there are some people who have problems or complains to them,
there must be an immediate action or any agreement against them when it
comes to the failures of their fucnction. It could be by giving substancial
penalties or disciplinary action.

Third, Nepotism and Red Tape issues in the Government offices or any
organizations who are rendering services to the public.
These two are some of the causes why Philippine is one of the corrupt
countries in the world. Not I am aware or mindful about these
terminologies before, but now, my mind was enlighten. Yes! I found these
two in the offices I visited. In regards with nepotism, based on my personal
observation, Some of the public officers tend to serve first those people
whom they know or have a connection with them. It is quite unfair lining up
in a long time while they prioritizing those who are close in them. In red
tape, based on my personal experience also, It slows down the delivery of
basic services for us who seek service. There is an undue delay in
processing. Sometimes, there is a happenings where other people collude
with corrupt employees to expedite transactions to fasten the process, in
short “fixers”. These unethical behaviour of employee must eliminate.
There must be discreet investigation to those people who are making it. A
penalty must be strengthen so that we may at least lessen those habit of
corrupt public servants.
