II. HISTORY OF LIVING ORGANISMS

➢ Covering the Earth's entire history beginning some 4.6

billion years ago, the scale of geological chronology is
second only to astronomical time, which covers the
age of the universe.

➢ Phanerozoic Eon. Most recent of the four eons of the

geological timescale, the other being, order of
descending age, the Priscoan Eon, the Archaean Eon,
and the Proterozoic Eon. The Phanerozoic runs from
the end of the Proterozoic, 545 million years ago, to
the present. It comprises three eras or three logical
order:
❑The Paleozoic Era (545 million to 248 million B.C)

❑The Mesozoic Era (248-66 million Years BC)

❑The Cenozoic Era (65 million years ago to the present day)
 1.1 Living organism in the Paleozoic Era
• At the beginning of Paleozoic Ear, there are
no organism on the land. Just only the life
living in the water and the oceans, and was in
the short-term evolution.

• In the middle of the Paleozoic era, the plants

begin to grown on the ground of the contents.

• At the end of the Paleozoic era, some of fish

start to a new life on the land and can support
their condition of the life on the land.
 1.2. Living organism in Mesozoic era
• At the beginning, continents was joined were
joined together in a single land mass call Pangaea
and tectonic plate movement gradually broke up
Pangea into two supercontinents.

• In the middle, Mammal, bird, and flying reptiles

had all appeared and the sea supported a diversity
of marine reptiles; their most important Jurassic
fossil site occur.

• At the end, maybe 50% organism on the Earth

including Dinosaur, marine reptiles and the last
pterosaurs was died out at the end of Mesozoic.
 1.3. Living Organism in Cenozoic Era
• This Era started from 66 million
years ago and continue to
nowadays.
• This Era also called Age of
mammals because mammals
appeared their life on the land, in
the water and on the air. The
mammal that evaluation their life
until nowadays is Elephants and
whales
