Lesson 10:
The Process
of RRLS
Mr. Cris Del Prado, LPT
1. SEARCH FOR THE LITERATURE
❖ Choose previous research findings that are closely related to your
research.
❖ Give more weight to studies done by people possessing expertise or
authority in the field of knowledge to which the research studies
belong.
❖ Consider source of knowledge that refer more to primary data that
to secondary data.
❖ Prefer getting information from the pre-reviewed materials than
from general reading materials.
2. READING THE SOURCE MATERIAL
❖ understanding or making the materials meaningful
❖ confront the reading with HOTS (Higher Order Thinking
Skills)
❖ think interpretatively through these ways of inferential thinking
➢ thinking | predicting | generalizing | concluding | assuming
❖ makes sense of the source materials
❖ makes you list down the ideas and permits you to modify,
construct or reconstruct ideas based on a certain principle
pattern, method, or theme underlying your research
3. WRITING THE REVIEW
❖ paraphrasing and summarizing the reviews
❖ changing the arrangement of ideas, structures of the language,
and the format of the text using appropriate organizational
techniques
➢ comparison-contrast | chronological order | spatial
relationship | inductive-deductive order | transitional devices
