1. Install the 1st side scanner optics unit on the carriage.

NOTE: Put the hole in the right side of the 1st side scanner optics unit over the
projection on the right side of the carriage.
2. Attach the 1st side scanner optics unit to the carriage with the screws. Do not
attach it tightly at this time.
NOTE: Make sure that the carriage can be adjusted. If not, loosen the screws
a little.
3. Install the lamp cover temporarily ( x 2).
4. Put the exposure glass on the scanner temporarily.
5. Turn on the main power of the scanner and put the “A3 RS-13 chart” on the
exposure glass.
6. Scan the “A3 RS-13 chart” and do the “skew adjustment”. ( Scan Probe
Service Tool section 7)
7. Adjust the skew adjustment screw [A] at the left side of the carriage.
NOTE: If the main scan skew value that you checked in the “skew adjustment”
is negative, turn the skew adjustment screw in the clockwise direction
[B].
If the main scan skew value that you checked in the “skew adjustment”
is positive, turn the skew adjustment screw in the counter clockwise
direction [C]. One turn of the screw will change the skew value by 0.5
mm. Do steps 6 and 7 until you get a good result.
8. Turn off the main power of the scanner.
9. Attach the 1st side scanner optics unit tightly ( x 2) after you adjust the skew.
10. Remove the lamp cover temporarily. Then install the scanner cover ( x 1, 
