1. Overview
This document will explain the steps for calibration of the Regius 110 and
170/190/210 readers for CS 1/2/3.
These calibrations should be checked on installation and repeated if replacing the
optic unit.

Pre-Calibration Requirements:
Connect Reader to the Console and ensure that reader is functioning.
Make a complete backup of all reader settings before performing calibration.
(Refer to Installation-Service Manual for the appropriate version of software for instruc-
tions on how to create a backup.)
When finished with calibrations, make a new backup of the corrected settings.
1. Using a 14x17 or 14x14 inch cassette, make a flat field exposure using 72 inch distance,
80 kV, and 10 mAs as depicted in diagram 1 below with the cassette parallel to the x-
ray tube and the blue edge of the cassette to the technologist’s left.
2. Create a test patient on your Konica Minolta console.
3. Process the image using the Test Exam Tag at Standard Resolution.
4. Complete the study.

2. If values are out of tolerance: Log into Service Tool 5678, Select Reader, Device Settings.
3. Adjust H-Shift and/or V-Shift as recommended below.
4. Select [Send] to send changes to the reader.
5. Make another exposure and follow previous steps to measure pixels of new image.
1. Using the largest cassette in the facility, make a flat field exposure using 72 inch distance, 80
kV, and 10 to 20 mAs as depicted in diagram 1 below with the cassette parallel to the x-ray
tube and the blue edge of the cassette to the technologist’s left.
(If there is more than one x-ray source in the facility, perform this test on the most frequently
used room.)

1. Using a dosimeter, determine a mAs value by acquiring an average from at least 3 exposures
that achieve a dose of 10mR +/-2. (This should be done without the cassette.)
2. With the largest cassette in the facility, make a flat field exposure using 72 inches, 80kV, and
a dose of 10mR +/- 2 from the established technique in step 1 (without the dosimeter in the
field).
3. Allow the cassette to sit for 2 minutes after exposure.
