An In-depth review of One Plus Bullets Wireless Z

The Aesthetics and Build

The bullets wireless Z has a light weight plastic body with a nice texture so that it
doesn’t feel uncomfortable when worn around a person’s bare neck. It is also water
resistant with an IP55 rating and its ok if worn during jogs or walks but beware as
the resistance level goes down with every day wear and tear so think twice before
using it during intense work out sessions moreover in the regular bullets Z, the left
earpiece tends to fall off during running which is not the case with the Bass
edition. The earpiece is soft and doesn’t cause any discomfort when worn for long
periods of time. They come in four colors which are black, blue, mint (Teal green)
and oats (greyish white) for the regular Bullets Z and for the bass edition it comes
in reverb red and bass blue. My personal favorites are the black, mint and reverb
red colors.

Charging

The regular bullets Z provides battery life of nearly 20 hours and the bass edition
provides a battery life of 17 hours. The best part is that a charge of 10 mins gives
the user a battery life of nearly 9 hours for the regular Bullets Z and 7 and half
hours approximately for the bass edition. This is one of the best features of the
Bullets Z as its competitors only provide 8 to 10 hours of playback with full
charge.

Audio

The audio is nothing to write home about. It’s a decent offering in terms of audio
with support for SBC and AAC audio codec support but there are a few better
options for this price (see below). The bass edition is better in terms of sound
quality and for some reason the left earphone has a slightly less sound output when
compared to the right but it is very negligible that most of the times it goes
unnoticed. The bass edition doesn’t seem have this problem.

Important functions

The earpieces clip together due to magnets in the back and it also pauses the
music/video when done so but doesn’t play them automatically if they are
unclipped but this may work for One Plus smartphones. A quick switch button is
present in the neck piece of the regular bullets Z which can be used to switch
between multiple devices with a double click. Though One Plus promises an ultra-
low latency mode for One Plus users the latency in android phones would still be
playable for games like Battle Grounds Mobile India and Call of Duty.

Contents

The box contains three pairs of rubber earbuds including the pair attached on the
earphones. A short type-C USB cable for charging the earphones along with a user
guide and a Red Cable Club card.

Warranty
It has a warranty period of one year. Do not remove the IMEI tag present in the
device and do not go to unofficial repair centers as it makes the warranty null and
void. The warranty does not cover damages due to wear and tear; this includes
sweat and water damage.

My thoughts

The One Plus Bullets Wireless Z is a great choice if you want a wireless earphone
to watch movies, listen to songs, play games and make video or audio calls for
long periods of time and if you are someone like me the warp charge really helps
out in a pinch. But I would suggest to go with the bass edition and not the regular
One plus bullets Z as it is an overall better product with a slightly better build with
a balanced sound signature. But there are other ample choices as shown below.

Other Choices

Oppo Enco M31

Similar to the Bullets Wireless Z this is a wireless neckband earphone but the
difference being that it has better audio codec support (LDAC) with hi-res audio
and a decent noice cancellation but the tradeoff is that it has less playback time of
approximately 11 hours when compared to the 20-hour playback of the Bullets
Wireless Z. The Price also comes down occasionally to Rs.1800

RHA MA390 UNIVERSAL

Considered as one of the best wired earphones under Rs. 2000 this is better than
the Bullet Wireless in Build with a strong aluminum body, braided cables and great
sound quality but the downside being that it is a wired earphone with a 3.5mm jack
which is not even L shaped

Realme buds Q

This is one of the best choices for a TWS or Truly Wireless under Rs.2000. It is
light weight (3.6g each) and has a decent sound quality with support for SBC and
AAC Codec support and a playback time of approximately 3.5 hours and the case
provides another four-charge cycle. It has a water resistance rating of IPX4. The
drawbacks being the touch sensitive areas in the buds being too small for ease of
use and the lack of charge indicators on the case.

Nothing ear (1)

If you are looking for something unique and the budget can be increased to
Rs.6000 then do look into the Nothing ear (1) as it has great sound quality for the
price with active noice cancellation with premium build quality and comfort which
is as good as the Air pods pro and similar premium TWS earphones which costs
twice or even thrice the price. It has innovative features such as swipe to increase
and decrease volume and great software support. It has one of the most interesting
design with a combination of white with a transparent build. But this is the first
product by the company and does have some software issues such as pairing
problems and a lack of equalizer at the moment.
