Project Title: Urban-planning For Water Supply Systems

TARGETS SET FOR THE WEEK Introduction to the project in hand, understanding the requisites of

water supply engineering for the proposed site.

ACHIEVEMENTS FOR THE WEEK

I understood the key components of a water supply system and importance of the individual entities that

come into the system. I was introduced to DETAILED PROJECT REPORTS of Water supply systems for

various cities. I was also introduced to the basic concepts and functionalities of AutoCAD which is also

an important aspect of Water Supply System Design.

FUTURE WORK PLANS

I have been assigned to assist my industry guide for the design and upgradation of water supply system

for city Jhumri Telaiya in Koderma District of Jharkhand.

Under this project I will be assisting in the preparation of the Detailed Project Report.

Monday Introduction to the company profile and the projects in hand.

Tuesday Overview and introduction to the detailed project reports of water supply
systems of various cities (Allahabad, Gotta, Bulandsheher, anoopsheher,
guwahati and Jhumri Telaiya etc) and its important components.

Wednesday Introduction to AutoCAD, its functionalities and basic commands and its
usefulness in the project.

Thursday Detailed Study of AutoCAD and introduction to designing, drafting and

annotations.

Friday Population forecast using the statistics from previous national census for city
of Jhumri Telaiya and forecast for the year 2048
