THINGS TO NOTE
We fantasize about the day we will crack XYZ examination, get a five-six-digit
salary, travel to this beautiful place, step into this new spacious house. The focus
is on the success, not the struggle. And it’s understandable — success is
glamorous, memorable, and marketable, while the struggle is drab, disagreeable,
and unattractive for the general public.
Yet, it’s making the effort, struggling, and sticking to your resolutions that shapes
you as a person. Success is a reward for having given it your best, but it’s not
always within your control whether and when you get to enjoy it. Whenever you
find yourself discouraged by your lack of success, remind yourself that the process
alone is your reward. It’s in your hands whether you allow yourself to see the
rewards the struggle generates or ignore them, mindlessly pursing the end result
as the sole indicator of success.
I failed numerous times in life. I could have despaired that I had lost so much time
and effort and money, but I hadn’t really failed. I had been true to my values of
pursuing the life I wanted. I kept going, despite the obstacles I constantly
encountered along the way.
Eventually my efforts paid off, but even if it had taken longer to get the results —
the struggle would still have been worth it for the immense changes I underwent
on the journey to pursue my dreams.

Solutions
1) Efficiency of Ritu and Anu together = 1/16

Efficiency of Anu = 1/24

Efficiency of Ritu = 1/16 – 1/24 = 1/48

Efficiency of Neha = 1/30

Ratio of efficiency of Neha and Ritu = 1/30:1/48 = 8:5

2) Let initial quantity of iron and copper be 7u and 12u resp.

7u+30/12u+40 = 5/8

u = 10
Required ratio = 7:16

3) Time taken by pipe to fill ¼ tank = 2T/4 = 0.5T

Time taken to fill ¾ tankwith 5 same pipes = 2T*3/4*1/5 = 0.3T

Total time = 0.8T

4) No. of ways = (6+1)!*5!/2!*2!*2! = 75600

5) Let salary of Muskan be 100u
Amount invested = 100u*20*60/100*100 = 12u

Interest earned = 6600

12u[(1+ 20/100)2 - 1] = 6600

u = 1250

Salary of Muskan = 1250 * 100 =Rs. 125000

6) Probability = 3/13 * ½ = 3/26

8) Let age of Ram be u

Age of Shyam = u-2

Age of Akshay = u-6

9) Let time taken by Raman with speed 15 km/hr is t hours

So total distance = 15t

Let his changed speed be u km/hr

15t=u(t + 3)

15t = 1.8u(t - 1)

t=6

So u = 10
Required speed = 1.8u *10 = 18 km/hr
