Introduction

Cosmetology is the art and science skill of beautifying the hair, skin, ad nails. There are

multiple branches of cosmetology such as, product educator, session stylist, and even platform

artist. In cosmetology there is something for everybody. I chose to expand my knowledge On

Cosmetology because there are many cultural aspects to learn, it’s also a tradition for the women

in my family to learn a hairstyle ad master it.

All states require Hairdressers, Barbers, and Cosmetologists to be licensed.

Anyone interested in Cosmetology must graduate or earn a certificate from a state approved

some work in spa, hotel, and resorts. Typically, some lease booth from a salon owner. Most open

their own shop after several years of experience. Cosmetologists must work in pleasant

surroundings with good lighting. Physical stamina is important, because they are on their feet for

most of their shift. Exposure to some chemicals can cause skin infection, so they often wear

Current Trends

Cosmetology has come a long way within its industry, from the evolvement of hairstyles

and makeup. For the last 2 years skin care and face fillers have been extremely popular in the

beauty industry. The process of getting fillers surgically implanted into one’s face to prevent

wrinkles or to enhance their features. Medical professionals have been working towards “non-

surgical technique that uses micro-injections of pharmaceutical and homeopathic preparations,

plant extracts, vitamins, and other.” (6 Trends in Cosmetology”) This is popular because it

“Hyaluronic Acid gel are used to rehydrate the skin and induce collagen production, essentially

benefiting fine lines, wrinkles, Crow’s feet, chin lines, lip lines, furrows and nasolabial folds.”

(”6 Trends in Cosmetology”) this allows the skin to have less invasive scars after the procedure

and a more effective recovery. Learning the new ways in cosmetic gives you the opportunity to

grow with the industry and be apart of life changing events

Conclusion

Cosmetology is at its highest point within the industry exitance and will only keep

growing. Before advanced technology choosing makeup was considered to be one profession in

cosmetology and Hair being another, but now people have profession in hair, makeup, and

facials and with the technology shows tutorial on YouTube or any other social media platforms

for people who have interest in it. Being a cosmetologist isn’t just about making someone

beautiful it’s abutted the communication and cultural aspect that’s being taught, not everyone has
