I-BEED BLOCK 9

ACT 1.

1. If you were to rewrite the history of humankind, what would it be like?

Ans: For me if I would rewrite the history of humankind, I would change the beliefs of the
majority that humans are came from monkey because if we humans originated from monkey,
therefore there should non of the monkeys are living and existing right now.

2. “Necessity knows no laws” How true is it in our present human condition?

Ans: Laws are supposed to protect the people, or citizens, of society either individually or
collectively. Laws exist for five basic reasons, and all of them can be abused so things won’t get
necessary if there’s no laws because if there is no laws it is possible to grow the number of
crimes. Laws don't keep law abiding people acting in accordance with the law. Laws define the
rules of society. Those are rules that the majority have already decided to follow. Before the law
was written. What the law does is protect those who don't behave according to the societal
norms of their community.

It outlines the acceptable behavior and limits the punishment for those who misbehave. In
the old days, where there was no law, or very little law enforcement. One would receive
harsh punishment for minor infractions. We as a society. Grew tired of seeing our young
men killed for stupid mistakes.

In order to ensure that those who misbehave. Would receive fair trial and fair punishment.
We wrote laws. Laws that not only defined the acceptable behavior, but it ensured society
that those who were found guilty. Would be treated fairly. No more being hanged for
stealing, or being thrown in prison for years on end. For petty crimes.

3. How can we be right when the government is wrong?

Ans: We can be even the government is wrong by doing our duties and role in our
community/country with purity in our heart, we don’t need to be one of them just because they
are the one who’s powerful, we should stand what is right in the eye of the law of people and
the right in the law of God.
4. College campus and buildings of DCOMC: our response to social justice. How?
Ans: Concept of social justice is related to the rights of the community, human rights, liberty,
equality and legal rights which are the main components of delivering or constructing justice.
Every human being has basic rights and freedom. These basic rights are based on dignity,
fairness, equality respect and independence. CHAMP also responses to social justice for the sake
protecting human rights and constitutional and legal rights. We empower community by making
interventions for their fundamental rights, social justice and other aspect which affect their life
directly or indirectly. We believe in solidarity and always stand with community and peoples’
movement and agitation in order to ensure social justice.

ACT 2.

1. Would you agree that Jose Rizal and Ferdinand E. Marcos are both saviors of the Philippines
and national heroes?
Ans: I am somewhat agree because they both have a big contribution in our country, I am
not comparing them since they both have different qualities and different personalities.
Ferdinand Marcos is a great leader and he help many Filipinos from poverty yet still called as
thief by many even though they don’t suffer the good life in the Marcos administration but
overall I still do believe that Marcos is a good leader and can be consider as hero like Dr.
Jose Rizal.

2. In order to have a justice, honest and peaceful elections this coming May 09, how do we
deal with the following problems?
- fake news and misinformation – We should have to avoid spreading those fake information
since many people are easily tease with fake news . We should always look if the
information are posted or said by relevant person and a trusted person.
- vote buying – Don’t allow to dictate us and buy our vote and don’t exchange the future of
our country in just a piece of amount.
- biases – We can’t avoid such biases but we can respect each others political views, as bbm
said, don’t let your hate overcome your humanity.
- election frauds and threats – Do not make troubles and just be quiet about your political
views to avoid threats, it’s much better just to be quiet and support them silently.

I-BEED BLOCK 9

1. What is your concept of a hero?

Ans: A person that helps everyone who needed help and always ready to help without
expecting them to give back.

2. Explain; “Pen is mightier than the sword” In connection with Rizal’s advocacy for a
peaceful revolution. Is it still applicable today?
Ans: In broader aspects, I think that that this is still applicable in today’s generation
since we all know that the crime and other societal problems are rapidly increasing but
nowadays people focus more on revenge but not in peace talk yet it is alarming.

3. Are Filipinos really lazy or indolent?

Ans: Filipinos are hardworking, and lazy at the same time. Filipinos would work for very
long hours if needed, and could also just sit down on the couch for long hours while
drinking liquor, if there isn’t a need to exert extraneous effort. Environment plays a vital
role in this attitude. We are living in a tropical country where the burning heat of the
sun would make you soaked in sweat with just minimal movement. The weather in the
Philippines is also very unpredictable, this hour it is very sunny, rain with strong winds
would blow on another. In spite of these, Filipinos in the rural areas are very productive
when it comes to agriculture and fisheries.

I-BEED BLOCK 9

Please answer the following as best as you can.

1. What is your concept of hero / bayani ?

A hero, in my opinion, is someone who will act with dignity, honor, and duty. Heroes are ordinary
people, such as a single mother doing what is right to support her child or a teacher passing on her
knowledge to the great minds of tomorrow. A hero is someone who puts others ahead of themselves. A
hero has good moral ethics and does things for the sake of doing good, not as a means to an end or as a
reward for good deeds, but as someone who does good for the sake of doing good.

2. Explain : " Mahirap magpakabayani. Ang bayani ay binabaril sa Luneta." At nadadamay ang pamilya.

Titingnan na lang ba natin ang mga violayirs of human rights, corrupt at liars na mga government
officials na magpatuloy kahit 50 years na at grabe na ang paghihirap ng.mga.tao?

-What is your point po ba of asking this? Kase if you really want to be a hero or your so called magpaka
bayani, we’re not usually meant to be killed just by acting as a hero since we ain’t Rizal.

I-BEED BLOCK 9

At any rate please answer the following as best as you can.

1. Why can't there be love without justice ?
Ans: There can be no love without justice affiliation This quote means that for love to exist,
justice in how you treat people and the environment is extremely important. Individuals should
be treated fairly, without being mistreated or oppressed. As a result, justice is a way of
demonstrating that you care about the feelings of others. Being just means consistently doing the
right thing for your neighbors without prejudice or partiality. A good neighbor considers the
well-being of others, and in difficult situations, he or she will be there for you.
Furthermore, by being just, you should love your neighbor as you love yourself. Love is good
will, benevolence, affection, and so on.

2. How can we protect ourselves from the destructive effects of internet ?

Ans: Today’s world is crammed with technology. Almost every family owns more than one
computer, laptop, smartphone, tablet, television etc. All of these are supposed to make our lives
easier. But although originally they’re created to serve humanity faithfully, digital devices have
revealed their harmful impact on our lives. Many studies have come to the conclusion that our
physical, social, and mental health suffers because of excessive exposure to technology. Let’s
discover the negative effects of technology on different aspects of our lives. This could help,
Monitor and limit the use of technology. It’s of great importance to know how much your kid
uses devices and in what ways.

3. Compare and contrast your time and Rizal's time in term of science and technology.
Ans: Rizal had the advantage of quality education, starting with the patient teaching of his moth-
er, which had opened his eyes to the vast inequality of the times he lived in. With the advent of
the Internet and freer access to information, our youth today do not have to leave these shores to
broaden their knowledge,” he said. The criticisms are perhaps valid, but we should look at the
positive side. We have a number of young people who are not content with the status quo and
refuse to be cowed by others who tell them to shut up,” Nograles said.
“This is no different from what Rizal did in his lifetime. Rizal spoke up, and inspired those who
listened to move,” he added.

for all who devote themselves to the common good,
working for justice and peace at home and around the world.

We lift up all our duly elected leaders and public servants,

those who will serve us as president, as legislators and judges,
those in the military and law enforcement.
Heal us from our differences and unite us, O Lord,
with a common purpose, dedication, and commitment to achieve liberty and justice
in the years ahead for all people,
