Role: Data Scientist / Data Analyst

Reporting to: Analytics – Unit Head / Team Lead

Base Location: Kolkata

Role Description:
You will be part of one of the fastest-growing banks in India. You would be responsible for
analyzing large volume and variety of data and bringing insight from the data. Through the
data-driven strategy, you will help the bank to grow its business and minimize risk. You would
need to go beyond traditional boundaries and should be passionate about using cutting-edge
analytical tools and technology to increase the book size, digital footprint, operational
efficiency, improve customer experience, and minimize risk.

Key Result Area:

 You will proactively work with business executives and departmental heads/ business
heads/collection team/operation team, understand the business problems, and
provide solutions accordingly.
 Ability to work with tech developers and internal & external stakeholders to design
and drive analytics solutions to solve business problems.
 Candidate should be comfortable working with a large volume of data and building a
story by developing different types of reports.
 Applicant should be comfortable in handling both structured and unstructured data
sets as well as have the capability to work with ambiguity.
 Candidate needs to be proactive in finding the root cause of any problem, risk
mitigation plan, and following up with the stakeholders to execute the plan.
 Incumbent shall design and develop innovative analytic models/strategies, utilizing a
blend of contemporary and traditional data mining techniques.
 Applicant needs to be observant of the implementation process of the
models/strategy and proactively monitor the performance of the models/strategy.
 Applicant needs to be a good team player who can work cross-functionally with other
groups
 Ability to work in a fast-paced, result-oriented, matrix organization

Key Skill Sets Required:

 0-5 years of relevant experience for (MT, Manager, Sr.Manager)
 Ph.D./Masters in any Quantitative Discipline/Computer Science
 Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline from Tier I institute
 Previous experience in programming in any programming language is a must
(preferably: R/Python/SAS)
 Previous experience in banking will be preferred
 Good communication skills in English (written and verbal)
