lights brighter, more durable and last longer making it more efficient.

This product would be beneficial to the following:

Students. Students are the main beneficiaries of this research because

this product could help them create a better source of light while studying and

possibly increase their academic performance.

Community. This research project might be beneficial in the community

wherein it could serve as an efficient source of light in case of power outages.

It is also low cost which makes it affordable for the people.

School. Since Bicol College is located in a place where power outages

happen frequently, this product might be also beneficial to the school. The

results and data in this research might be of in the future use.

Future Researchers. The data and results of this research might serve

as groundwork for relevant researches and for future improvements.

Methodology

This section presents the materials and the equipments used as well as the

procedures in developing the magnetic study lamp.

Materials

An LED light bulb or lamp utilize light-emitting diodes

(LED) in order to produce light. LED is a “solid-state”

technology, which means that the materials used to

generate the light are encased within a solid material. In this

study, the researchers used a 5 watts LED light bulb . Figure 1. 5W LED

or Neo magnet) is a type of rare-earth magnet, is a

permanent magnet made from an alloy of neodymium, iron,

and boron to form the Nd2Fe14B tetragonal crystalline

structure. In this study, the researchers used the. round type of neodymium

General Procedures

In order to develop the battery-powered magnetic lamp, the following

procedures are set forth: All the materials should be gathered and prepared

beforehand, and you should check if they are all in good condition to be used.

Some of the materials needed in this capstone project were newly bought and

recycled to save money. All the essential materials must be in good condition

in order to fully assess the functionality of the magnet lamp.

Next, the researchers cut the plywood into a rectangular shape using a

saw. Again, with the use of the saw, cut the lumber at least 12–15 inches long.

Also, cut at least 5 inches of lumber. Drill two holes on the bottom side of the

12-15 inch lumber and two holes in the middle of the left side of the plywood

with a drill. After drilling, the researchers aligned the drilled holes in the lumber

and the plywood. Insert a screw and tighten it with a screwdriver. Horizontally,

place the 5 inch lumber at the top of the 12–15 inch lumber. Using a nail and a

7
hammer, nail the 5 inch lumber to the 12–15 inch lumber. Drill one hole

between the two lumber corners with your drill once more. After successfully

creating the base, paint it with the desired choice of color and place it under

the sun to let it dry.

Attach the battery holder at the bottom of the back of the 12–15-inch

lumber and stick the two magnets perpendicularly under the base of the 5-inch

lumber. Make sure that the magnets have a space between them. Solder a

wire into each magnet with the color red representing the positive and black

representing the negative. Following that, insert the wire through a hole drilled

in the corner of the two lumber and connect it with the wire coming from the

battery holder.

Now, on to the light bulb. Please wear gloves and a safety glass for

your own protection. Gently remove the base electrical foot contact and the

glass bulb. Be careful not to break the glass bulb. After that, remove the

mother board and the tungsten filament of the light bulb. At this point, you’ve

already disassembled the light bulb. Now, place a thumb stack on the

insulation part of the light bulb and solder the wire from the 3v LED light.

Put the 3v LED light inside the case of the light bulb and put back the

glass bulb and the base electrical foot contact. Lastly, place two double A

batteries inside the battery holder. The product is now ready for evaluation.

For evaluation, put first the bulb where it exactly located, then turn on

the switch. And now the device is ready to be used.

magnetic-powered lamp emits no smoke while in use, and is rated 3.98, or

excellent. The device's light does not cause eye irritation, and it is rated 3.59

14
or excellent. The device does not harm users, and it is rated 3.79 or excellent.

The researchers ensure the device's safety, which is rated as 3.8 or excellent.

Conclusions
The device is designed to meet the study’s overall goal. As a result, the

facts disclosed in this study aid in the drawing of conclusions.

The researchers conclude that the magnet power lamp could be a

lifesaver in the event of power outage; in fact, the magnet power lamp does

not require any electricity; instead, it relies on a battery and the main

component, a magnet, to light for an hour and more, depending on the battery

capacity. However, because the device has a limited source of energy, it

should not be used continuously or for more than an hour in order for it to

survive longer. It might be used during a temporary power outage to provide

illumination.

The costs of device production are low enough that even poor and

average people can afford them. Considering electricity was frequently

interrupted, this device was a significant aid to students. In the event of a

power outage, they may still be able to study well. As a result, the magnet

power lamp quality exhibits a significant performance over time.

The device's utility gets an average rating of 3.5, Indicating that it is

good, and its edge in terms of advantage has a rating of 3.4, indicating that it

is also good. Furthermore, the device’s edge in terms of benefits has been

scored 3.6 or good. The device was rated 3.5 or good in terms of durability,

15
while the researchers guaranteed the equipment’s effectiveness in terms of

safety, giving it a rating of 3.8 or excellent.

Recommendations

The research’s findings and conclusions are based on these findings.

Following are some suggestions based on the findings:

To the community. The researchers recommend to use this in places

with no electricity or during power outages to help them in their own fields of

work.

To the Battery-Powered Magnetic Study Lamp owners. The

researchers suggest that the Battery-Powered Magnetic Study Lamp owners

should own a double a battery charger and a 9V battery charger to charge the

batteries if they ran out of power.

To the students. Researchers encourage students to use the device

while making their assignments at night because the device provides ideal

reading lightning and does not cause eye irritation.

To the future researchers. The researchers encourage them to

improve, and conduct further study for them to achieve more convenient and

modernized our product.
