About this Application Note


This Application Note describes how to remotely control a Caldera
PC at a customer's site.

About the Remote Control Feature


Caldera's Remote Control feature enables you to remotely take
control of remote Caldera workstation.

Taking control of a remote Caldera


workstation
1. Open a web browser and enter the following case sensitive
URL: http://support.caldera.eu/Supporter
A window appears requesting your User Name and Password.

2. Enter the required (case sensitive) details,


User Name: support
Password: Caldera

The following WEB page appears:

3. Enter the following case sensitive User Name, Password and


Session Number:
User Name: support_matan
Password: MatanIsrael
Session Number: 17
4. Check the Use local vnc server option.
5. Ask the remote user to open Caldera Tools on their desktop.

6. Enter the password (caldera) as requested in the following


window.

7. Click OK.
The following screen appears.

8. Ask the remote user to open the REMOTE CONTROL folder.

9. Double-click GIVE CONTROL.

10. In the command line window, ask the remote user to type the
session number (17) and press ENTER.

11. After the remote user has opened a session, on your browser,
click TAKE CONTROL.

12. Confirm the security warning and click RUN.

The following window appears.

13. Click START VIEWER.


The remote station is displayed on your screen.

Each Remote Control session is open for 2 hours—after which time, it
disconnects. If you need additional time, you should open a new session.
