NARRATIVE REPORT

Our world continues to develop because of industrialization, urbanization, the way of

living, and technology. All of these bring about significant global changes in a variety of
ways. Human beings may greatly benefit from the changes, but it is heartbreaking to see how
Mother Earth is suffering as a result of human progress. According to certain studies,
unwanted human activities account for the majority of environmental deterioration and
natural distractions. The actual data only suggests that humans are largely responsible for and
play a significant part in reviving our environment.

On the other hand, the school has a great role in fostering environmental awareness
for the learners and the community. The North Cabadbaran Central Elementary School
initiates community outreach activities: SAGIP DAGAT, BANTAY KALAT: Coastal Clean-
up Drive Activity, and AQUAHOME: Mangrove Tree Planting Activity at Brgy. Calibunan,
Cabadbaran City. The said activities were conducted last February 26, 2022, early in the
morning at 6:00 a.m. in Brgy. Calibunan, Cabadbaran City coastal area. It was a collaborative
work between school organizations, City Environment and Natural Resources, and Barangay
Council together with the pupils, teachers, and stakeholders.

The activities started at 6:00 a.m. when the city forester brought some mangrove
seedlings to be planted in the sanctuary area. Before the planting activity, sir Paul Boligor,
city forester, conducted a short orientation about mangroves. Pupils, teachers, and
stakeholders enjoyed planting the mangrove seedlings. After the planting activity, the group
proceeded to coastal cleaning by picking-up non-biodegradable wastes in the sanctuary areas
and shore areas.

The activities were successfully ended with joy in every heart in helping our Mother
Earth.
