Bismillah-hir-Rahman-nir-Raheem

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu.

Dear Brothers and Sisters – in - Islam,

Alhumdulillah, by the immense Grace of Allah (Suhbhanahu Wa Ta’alaa) and with the Blessings of our Beloved
Noble Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhe Wa Sallam0 have managed to arranged these 40 or more salawat for us to
derive benefit of attracting the Noble gaze of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wa salam).
This has been tried and tested for numerous intentions. My humble advice to everyone is to practice this either
daily after Isha prayer or on every Thursday evening. (Juma’ah Night).

The salawat can be recited 3 times each including the long ones for maximum benefit Inn-sha-Allah. A general
du’a for yourself and needs etc. (intentions or hajats) should be made after the recitation of the salawat. It is
commendable to be in wudhu if possible throughout the recitations and preferably to sit in the Tashahudd
position as you would sit when in Salaah and recite the salawat with full concentration and with due respect to it.
It is commendable to face Madinatul Munawwarah, The Bless Rawdha Sharif.

The recitation should be done if possible in the following manner for full benefit:
1. Pray 2 or 4 rakah Tawba (repentance) and sit facing Qibla. It’s commendable to be in clean white clothes with
attar (scents). Make sure the place of worship is free from dirt and secluded.
2. Start with the Niyah of Salawat. (State your intention for this salawat amal).
3. Recite the Quran Ayat “Innallaha wa malaikatahu yusalluna 'alannabi ya ayyuhalladzina amanu sallu
alaihi wasallimu taslima”….”Allahumma Solli Wa Sallim ‘alaa Sayyidina Muhammadin Wa Ahlihi Wa Sahbihi Wa
Baarik Wa Sallim”.
4. Recite every salawat 3 times each for maximum benefit with concentration and love for Rasūlullah but, even
if it is recited whilst we are busy with our daily work and household chores, it will still bring us great blessings
and rewards in this world and the next.
5. After the ending of the 40th salawat Recite Sura Al Fatiha x 11 times minimum or 40 times maximum.
6. Make du’a according to what is inspired – for your general well-being, needs, family, etc .
7. Humble request kindly remember all the Muslims in your dua’as.

Dua in English below:

“O Allah, I intend by my invocation (dua’a) of salat and salam upon the Noble Prophet salallahu alaihi
wasallam to conform to Your Command, to comply with Your Book, and to follow the Sunnah of Your Prophet
Muhammad salallahu alaihi wasallam out of love for him, longing for him, and in exaltation of what is due to
him; to Honour him because he is deserving of this; so accept this from me; by Your Favour and Kindness,
and remove the veil of heedlessness from my heart and make me from amongst Your righteous servants.
O Allah, increase him in honour, in addition to the honour You have already conferred upon him, and
increase him in glory, to supplement the glory You have given him. Elevate his rank from among the ranks
of the Envoys, and his degree from among the degrees of the Prophets (Alaihe Salaam’s). I ask You for
your Pleasure and for Paradise. O Rabb of the Worlds, and for contentment in the religion, in this world
and in the hereafter; and to die whilst living in accordance with the Holy Book, the Sunna and the Jama’a,
and by the testimony of faith, without changing or altering it. And forgive me, by Your Immense Favour
and Kindness towards me for what I have committed. Indeed, You are the Forgiver and the Most Merciful.
And bestow salat and salam upon our Master Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa salam. and on his family and
companions and give them peace”. Ameen…Ya Rabbal ‘alameen.”
Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,

I would like to share with you some hadiths that convey how sending praises (Salawat) upon the beloved Prophet
Muhammad (Sallal laahu Alaihe Wasallam) is a great blessing for us. As we all know, the Noble Prophet Muhammad
(Sallal laahu Alaihe Wasallam) is created as the mercy for the whole Universe with the best of character and is
the Master who will testify for us on the Day of Judgement. So it is beneficial for us to send Durood towards are
beloved Prophet Muhammad (Sallal laahu Alaihe Wasallam).

Here are some hadiths about the benefits of Durood:

Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said, “He who sends a single Durood upon me, Almighty Allah rewards him
ten times and ten good deeds are recorded in his book of good deeds”. (Tirmidhi)

Abdullah ibn Masood (radi Allahu anhu) narrates that Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said, “On the Day of
Qiyamah, the closest to me from among the people will be those that have read the most amount of Durood”.
(Tirmidhi: Kanzul Amaal)

Abu Talha (radi Allahu anhu) narrates that he once entered the Court of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi
wasallam) and noticed that the Habeeb of Almighty Allah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) was in a state of great joy
and happiness. When he inquired as to the reason for this, Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam)
replied that, “Why should I not be happy and joyous? At this very moment Sayyiduna Jibra’el Ameen (alaihis
salaam) has brought me a message. Almighty Allah has declared, ‘O Muhammad! Are you not pleased with this,
that if any of your followers sends a single Durood upon you, I and My Angels (Malaa’ikah) send ten blessings upon
that person, ten of his sins are pardoned and ten good deeds are recorded in his favour. He who sends Salaams
upon you, I send Salaams upon him, so therefore, notify your Ummah of this good news and tell them that it is
now left to them to either increase or decrease the recital of the Durood Shareef’”. (Nisaai)

Abdullah ibn Masood (radi Allahu anhu) narrates that, “I read my Salaah (prayer) in the Masjid when Sayyiduna
Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam), Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and Sayyiduna Umar (radi Allahu anhuma) were
present. When I had completed the Salaah, I began to praise Almighty Allah. Thereafter, I began to read the
Durood Shareef. When I started the Du’a, Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) exclaimed, ‘Ask, and
you shall receive, you shall receive!’”. (Tirmidhi)

Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said, “On the Pillars of the Arsh of Almighty Allah are written the
following words, ‘He who desires to meet Me, I bless him. He who asks from Me, I grant him. He who reads the
Durood upon my Habeeb (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) desiring My closeness, I pardon his sins, even if it be more
than the foams of the ocean’”. (Dalaa’ilul Khayraat)

Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said, “There is a purifier and a refinement for everything. For the heart
of a Muslim, a means of purification and refinement is through the recital of the Durood Shareef”. (Al Qolul
Badi)

Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said, “O my followers! Your recital of the Durood Shareef is a protector
for your Du’as. It also achieves for you the Pleasure of Almighty Allah and it purifies your actions”. (Sadaatud
Daarain)

There are many different Salawat, Alhamdulillah, I’ve managed to complied about forty over. Find out online
about the other Durood’s.

There are many more hadiths on the benefits of Durood, but even with this much we can see how beneficial for
us in this Dunya (world) and in the Ahkirah (Hereafter) reciting the Durood is.

Insha’Allah that we turn to Allah (SWT) and His Beloved Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) ask for
His forgiveness, guidance, protection, and to enter us all into Junnah al Firdaus.
The Legal Position on Salawat
B ased on Prophetic narrations [ahadith], the righteous scholars have ruled

that the recital of salawât is obligatory [fard] in the following situations:

 The final sitting of every ritual prayer [attahiyât]
 The Funeral Prayer [salâtu-l janâzah]
 The Friday Sermon [khutbatu-l jumu’ah]
 Whenever the blessed names or beautiful attributes of the beloved Prophet
(Allah bless him and give him peace) are mentioned by any person (Muslim or
non-Muslim), animal or even object. Additional points to note:
 If the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) is mentioned several times
in a gathering, it is obligatory for the listeners to invoke salutation every time
his name is heard.
 If the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) is mentioned by a person
who is asleep, it is obligatory for the one who heard it to invoke salutation.

Marginal Note: It is worth noting that the requirement to recite salawât whenever
the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) is mentioned has been facilitated
immensely by the fact that freedom from the greater or lesser impurities have not
been made a condition [shart] for the invoking of salutations. It is for this reason
that women are highly recommended to recite plentiful salawât during the times
when they are unable to perform the obligatory acts of worship.
It is sometimes compulsory [wâjib] to recite salawât in supererogatory acts that are
of special importance in the prayer [‘abâdh sunnah] and other adorning
supererogatory acts [sunnah] such as:
 The middle sitting in a 3 or 4 cycle prayer [mid-attahiyât]
 The Qunût
 The Calls to Prayer [azân wa iqâma]
It is prohibitively disliked [makrûh] to recite salawât in instances such as when being
amidst rubbish heaps or filth [najâsa].

Compiled from the works of Imam al-’Arus, may Allah be pleased with him and
perfume his resting abode.

"O Allah! May Thy grace and peace rest upon Hazrat Muhammad, our Master and our patron, the Wearer of Holy
Crown, the one who ascended the Heavens, the rider of the Heavenly Steed and holder of the Flag of Divine Unity, the
remover of calamity, epidemic, famine, disease, and pain. His name is written in Divine edict, exalted authorised for
intercession and inscribed in the Tablet and Pen.

"He is the leader of Arabs and non-Arabs. His body is the most holy, pure, fragrant, full perfected in purity and
luminous in the sanctuary of Kaaba and its precincts. He is the sun of the glorious morning light, and the (full beautiful)
moon of the dark night, the chief occupant of the highest seat in Heaven, light of guidance, refuge for the creatures,
and lamp in the darkness. Of excellent manner, is the intercessor for mankind, one gifted with generosity and
magnanimity. Allah is his protector and Angel Jibrael (A.S.) attends on him frequently. The Heavenly Steed is his
conveyance and the glorious ascension to Heavens (to meet his Allah) is his last station in his march onwards, his object
is to come in the closest company of his Allah, and this object was successfully achieved the point of destination
reached and the goal covered.

"He is the most prominent amongst all the apostles, and the last in the line of the Prophets (no Prophet will come after
him. E'sa (A.S.) will come in the capacity of his ambassador), the intercessor of Sinners, Mercy indeed for all the
domains of existence, comfort for the lovers and the desired object for the yearning souls, the sun of the gnostics, and
the shining lamp for those who travel on the road leading to Allah, the lover of the poor and needy, the leader of the
Jinns and all mankind, Prophet of the twin sacred centres (Makkah and Madinah), leader of the two exalted positions
(Qiblas, the Kaaba of Mecca and of Jerusalem), our Supporter in both the worlds, honoured with Kaaba Kausaine, the
beloved of the two east and the west, the grandfather of Hazrat Hassan and Hussain (A.S.), our Patron and the patron
of the Jinns and mankind, father of Hazrat Qassim (his son) Muhammad, son of Abdullah, who is the light of Allah's
Light. Therefore, O lovers of light and beauty of Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.S.), invoke blessings on him and salute him
with worthy salutations."

If anyone wants to see Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallim) in his dream, then he should recite Durood-
e-Taaj on eleven Friday nights continuously and that too on the advancing stages of the moon.

Allahumma salli ala Sayyidina Muhammadin salatan tash-feenaa wa sallim alayhi salaman yu-da-wee-naa
wa 'ala a-lihi wa sahbihi wa sallam

The above is said to have worked for many people already that have read it, it needs to be read every day 100
times morning and evening or more and either blow over the area of pain or blow into cupped hands and rub over
the whole body.

This Salawat is usually recited in the graveyard while paying homage to the deceased. When it is
recited, Allah showers His blessings on the deceased. When the sons go to the graveyard they
should recite the above Durood Shareef on the graves of their father and mother, and all the
parents who have passed away.

Dear Allah, bestow Your Choicest Blessings upon our Master Muhammad (Peace be upon Him)
and upon his extended family and his progeny according to the number of all things known to
You. I seek the forgiveness of the One but for whom there is no God, The Truly and
Perfectly Alive and The Self Sustained and I turn to Him with repentance. O The Truly and
Perfectly Alive O The Self Sustained.

This is the Salaatunnabi (Durood) recited by Hadrat Sayyidinaa UWAIS QARNEE (RA),and
the inherited Durood Shareef of the Honorable chain of Qadariyyah; Mujaddidiyyah;
Ghafooriyyah; Raheemiyyah; Kareemiyyah and Ameeriyyah. It is highly recommended that
those who seek the love and closeness to the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammad (Peace be
upon Him) make it mandatory upon themselves to recite this Durood Shareef according to
their capacity and the time they have available. For instance at least 11 times after each
Salat. It should be recited more frequently after Isha, Tahajjud and Fajr. 100, 300, 500
times or even more. Remember though, once the frequency is fixed, be steadfast upon it!
THE BENEFIT OF ABUNDANT DUROOD:

A young man who was making tawaaf of the Ka`bah was reciting Durood Shareef in abundance.
Someone asked if he experienced any effect of the Durood Shareef. The young man than narrated
the following episode:

“My father and I went for Hajj. Along the journey my father became ill and died. His face became
black; his eyes became horribly contorted and his stomach bloated. I cried and said: ‘Inna lillahi wa
inna ilayhi raji-oon.’ I bewailed my father’s death in the journey and his condition. That night when I
fell asleep, I saw in a dream Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) approaching my father. He rubbed
his blessed hand on my father’s face. Immediately it became whiter than milk and glittered. He then
rubbed his hand on my father’s bloated stomach. His stomach subsided and became normal. When
Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) was about to leave, I took hold of his blessed shawl and
exclaimed: ‘O my chief! Who are you?’ He said: ‘Do you not recognize me? I am Muhammad, the Rasool
of Allah. This, your father, was grossly disobedient and a sinner. However he recited Durood in
abundance. I have therefore come to his aid when this calamity befell him.’”

O’Allah shower blessings upon Muhammad (pbuh) our master in the number that is in Thy knowledge, such that
those blessings may continue forever eternal as Thy Kingdom.

DUROOD MAHEE

One day a Companion of the Holy Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon
him) came to the Holy Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him) and
complained that his wife had tried to cook a fish for three days but was unable to cook it.
The Holy Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him) asked the fish why it
was not possible to cook it. The fish replied that one day it was swimming alongside a ship
when it heard a traveller on board reciting Durood Mahee and it then proceeded to recite
Durood Mahee. The Holy Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon him) then
informed the companion to convey this good news to his Ummah: that if anyone reads Durood
Mahee once then the fires of hell are haram for that person.

Salaat al-`Aali al-Qadr
As mentioned by Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani (qs) and many other awliyaullah,
from the Sharh Salawat ad-Dardir al-`allamah as-Saawi, reciting this salawat will eliminate
claustrophobia and bring ease to you in the grave. It will also remove the fear of the
interrogating angels, Munkar and Nakir. It is mentioned that whoever recites this salawat
once every Friday, upon his death Prophet will go with him to his burial and bury him with
his own blessed hands!

Numerous awliyaullah have said, "Whoever recites it even once on Friday or from
Thursday evening onward, Allah will allow his soul to see the Exemplar of All Souls ," not
only when his soul is leaving the body, but also when he is taken to the grave, until he
sees the Prophet is the one taking care of him in that grave.

Awliyaullah say to be consistent in reading as-Salaat al-`Aali al-Qadr ten times daily and
once on the night of Jumu`ah will bring you khayr al-jaseem, the uncountable good that
comes from it. Also, the book Fath ar-Rasool states that who reads it ten times after `Isha
will be rewarded as if they recited it all night.
After the Salaam one should make Du'aa, invoking the Waseelah (agency) of
Rasulullah , i.e. one should make Du'aa to Allah Ta'aala, asking Him (Allah Ta'aala)
to accept the Du'aa through the Waseelah of Nabie-e-Kareem . Make a request
for the Shafa'at (intercession) of
Rasulullah in the following manner:

O Rasulullah! I ask you for Shafa'at (Intercession) and I supplicate Allah Ta'ala
through your Waseelah that I die as a Muslim, steadfast on your Millat and your
Sunnah.
O Allah, I beseech Thee, and turn towards Thee, through Thy Prophet, the Prophet of Mercy,
Muhammad, may Allah Bless him and his Progeny, and grant them peace. O Abul-Qasim, O
Messenger of Allah O guide of mercy, O intercessor of the community, O our chief, O our
master, We turn towards thee, seek thy intercession and advocacy before Allah, we put before
you our open need, O intimate of Allah, Stand by us when Allah sits in judgement over us.
General information about salawat in verses and hadiths:

Salawat is a term that means to congratulate, to praise, to pray, to pray for the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him), to
ask for forgiveness and mercy. It is a kind of worshipping that is performed at certain times as it is stated by the
Quran and described by the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him). The plural form of salah in Arabic is salawat. It is
generally used in the meaning of prayer for the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him).

The following is stated in the Quran: "Allah and His angels, send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that believe! Send ye
blessings on him and salute him, with all respect." (al-Ahzab, 33/56).

According to this verse, it is fardhu to send our blessings and greetings to the Prophet (peace be upon him); it is a duty
that has to be performed by every Muslim. Every Muslim needs to say salawat:"Allahumma salli ala Muhammad" (O Allah!
Send blessings on Muhammad), which is the shortest form.

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) stated the following:

 "Allah sends ten salawat to the person who utters one salah for me." (Ahmad bin Hanbal)
 "The closest person to me on the Day of Judgment is the one who recites the most salawat for me."(Tirmidhi)
 “The closest people to me on the Day of Judgment and the ones who deserve my intercession the most are the
ones who recite the most salawat for me.”(Tirmidhi, witr, 21)
 "There are travelling angels of Allah on earth. They convey the greetings of my ummah to me
instantly."(Nasai, Sahw 46, (3, 43))
 “When Gabriel (A.S.) met me, he said to me, ‘I will give you good news. Allah (S.W.T.) says: I will greet
anyone who greets me. I will send blessings to the person who sends blessings to you.’” (Hakim, Bayhaqi)

God Almighty’s doors of mercy are open wide for the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). O believers! Those
who want to benefit from this door and should utter salawat a lot; thus, they will join our group that will be together
with the Prophet and invest for the Hereafter. (Akhirah).

We send our humble greetings and blessings to you and ask you to pray for us.

Ameen…..Ameen……Ameen……Ya Rabbal ‘Alameen.
