Reflection- highlights

“Dependence via social media is one of the rising wonders in current society.
Nowadays, individuals are constantly adhered to their telephones, with their heads
knelt, looking through different online stages like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube,
Twitter among others. This dependence is mostly ascribed to the progression of the
advanced age where the Internet has gotten inescapable being used, modest, and
simple to access just as its quick capacity to stack content. ”

“With regards to film and media, the phenomenon of dependence via social media is
articulately portrayed in the movie "The Social Dilemma". ”

“The Social Dilemma. It is, no doubt, incredibly intriguing. Best case scenario, it's
profoundly upsetting. We live in a universe of details and information and analysis.
Studies can show a reasonable image of cultural connections – we can plan social
effects more than ever. social media's effect has essentially changed each part of life
on Earth. It's not all awful. Yet, the awful is an unregulated self-driving beast. The
consequences are turning into really scarily obvious. ”
Reflection- highlights

“The word is never before been connected as much as today. Social media is affecting
our live immensely, it has certainly changed how we live our lives todays. Social media
is quite scary it holds an enormous amount of information most of which is freely
shared.”

“The 2020 The Social Dilemma is a documentary that discusses how social media
systems and artificial intelligence forecast our online behavior and steer our viewing
patterns toward what they think we'd like to see, even though it's uninformed,
inaccurate, or even harmful.”

“It also depicts, reasonably accurately, how networks collect personal data in order to
manipulate consumers with advertisements and how they have effectively remained
unchecked to this point.”

“Personally, social media has allowed me to engage with a lot of people who I would
not have met otherwise. Social media also have dark side, those who do anything and
everything for personal gain. It is our duty to take responsibility for what we share and
to ensure that the knowledge we share comes from a trustworthy source. It is our
responsibility to know when the whole experience begins to have a negative impact and
when it is time to walk away. ”
Reflection- highlights

“Our world has become so invested in developing technology, this helped us in so many
ways and it lets us create a direct connection to an artificial world which we created.
However, issues and inevitable problems are also significantly rising due to a goal for
business and disregards human sentiments.”

“The documentary projected general and main source of these networks to be able to
monetize their services is through advertising, impressions of advertisement will make
them gain dollars. Now as users, entering our data and engaging more to these
platforms will let their system be informed of our personal stuffs that we prefer,
therefore making them be able to predict our actions and introduce expected contents
to tap in.”

“The whole documentary shows how terrifying the media can become. Just like the
characters, Ben and his younger sister in the film, we tend to be vulnerable to take part
in a propaganda caused by fake news and we may become too hungry of attention that
we modify our real self just for comments and likes. These are the things that we have
overlooked. ”

“Social Medias were compared to a drug, but no matter what, we can control and make
changes to lessen the problems for our own sake. We cannot change right away the
big social dilemma, but we can try adjusting for our own good.”
