Snapchat is a mobile application for Android and iOS devices. Snapchat is an application
that focused on private, person-to-person photo sharing in their early release. But now user can
use it for a range of tasks including sending videos, live video chatting, messaging, creating
caricature-like Bitmoji avatars and others. Snapchat became famous due to their ability to add
filters and AR-based lenses to snap and show user live location on a world map.
Snapchat change the way people communicate online, where user can quickly send a
photo of themselves with a rainbow-puking AR lens applied to friends all over the world.
It has decided that the application need to be redesigned after receiving a couple of
feedback from the existing users such as:
Snapscore pages keep changing whenever the user clicks that page through their
profile page instead of using the bitmoji button to direct to the snapscore page.
Inability to find the filter by using the filter name.
Lack of notification when the snap is failed to send.
Missing shortcut feature whenever the user decided to delete or reorganize their
shortcut in the application.
In the initial stage of the development in redesigning the mobile apps, ATuneDesign Sdn.
Bhd, have executed the data gathering activities to acquire relevant data in building the
requirements needed. After the activities have been executed completely, the team analyse the
data, and the table below summarizes the findings of the user profile table and the user
requirements for the mobile apps.
Question 1
Using the information in the Table 1 above, answer the question below.
(a) Discuss with justifications what are the TWO (2) human factors and how it can influence
the performance of the targeted audience if not being identified in the early stage towards
redesigning the applications. (10 marks)
(b) Critically discuss THREE (3) suitable solution for each factor identified above, in
overcome the issues stated in the answer above.

Using the information in the Table 1 above, answer the question below.
(a) Based on the data concluded in the user profile table, critically discuss TWO (2) usability
goals that is suitable to be appointed for the proposed user interface.

(b) Critically discuss any FIVE (5) suitable design guidelines to be use in achieving both
usability goals mentioned above in designing the new interface for Snapchat application.

(c) Produce a Hierarchical Task Analysis (HTA) in a form of chart or textual notations for
the process of “taking picture” and “add friends” as per shown in the figure 2 below.

Question 3
Evaluation can be considered as the process, which investigates evidence of success or failure of
any such development during the implementation. Therefore, in conducting the evaluation
activities, well planning is needed in finding the suitable techniques to be use in executing the
activities in ensuring the right techniques are used in deriving relevant data/output for the
application. For an example black box testing is suitable to be used for summative evaluation
type rather than the formative evaluation.
In guiding the evaluation activities for Snapchat application, DECIDE framework can be used to
help in addressing the information above.
a) Critically discuss the step involves in performing the DECIDE framework with
appropriate example in conducting the evaluation for Snapchat application.

b) Critically identify FOUR (4) Heuristic guidelines, which can be used in executing the
heuristic evaluation activities with appropriate example.
