OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT

1. (i) Functional Location : 1017-S1COM-CLT-T01 ST-1 COOLING TOWER 01

2. Following precautions to be taken by recipient before start of work to avoid danger from the system:

i. Manholes in tank/vessel are in open condition and are cordoned. Means of exit provided.
ii. Oxygen content is checked for the space inside tank/vessel and found to be within acceptable limit of 20% to 24%.
iii. The space inside tank / vessel is free of toxic / poisonous gases.
iv. Competent person is available for supervising the work.
v. Forced ventilation arrangements for air circulation inside tank/vessel has been provided.
vi. Availability of fire water system & portable extinguisher.
vii. Workers are wearing Safety Shoes/ Safety Belts properly in good condition.
viii. Experienced workers are engaged for work & standby personnel provided for vessel entry.
ix. Ensure that a lifeline is tied to the hip of worker inside tank/vessel, with other end of the lifeline tied outside the
tank/vessel. Also ensure that the standby personnel is holding the lifeline just outside the tank/vessel.
x. Dust masks/ safety helmets/ gloves/ goggles/ welding suit/face shield/ apron/ life line are provided to workers.
xi. Oxygen & Acetylene cylinders are kept outside vessel/tank.
xii. Portable electrical equipment/ fibre body checked for its healthiness including earthing.
xiii. Workers are briefed on safety precautions to be taken (Dos/ Don'ts).
xiv. Proper illumination is available at work location.
xv. 24V hand lamps are provided for inside at work location.
