Community
Partnerships can encompass many different forms of
collaboration. Partnerships are defined as “voluntary and
collaborative relationships between various parties in which all
participants agree to work together to achieve a common purpose or
undertake a specific task”. The Principles of Partnerships are used
as a framework for the formal or informal agreements in the
partnership process. It thus places great importance on
partnerships and collaborative relationships as an essential means
of achieving better results for the common good of every child.
Advocacy for the time consciousness and honesty is a
significant campaign for core development of individuals. If
everyone is punctual and honest there will be a related valuing for
self- respect and for respecting other’s time. These values cannot be
taught but can be caught by simply modelling the practice and
making it a habit. Awareness of the benefits of Project WATCH is a
significant step in bringing about fundamental change in the
transformation of our society.
Recognizing the importance of partnerships is not difficult, but
understanding how to build those partnerships is critical.
Partnerships with community and other individuals take time and
effort, but if managed well, they can help your organization achieve
its goals more effectively. Advocacy starts through the spread of
motivating information and bringing people together.  Having ideas
and energy is vital.  Advocacy occurs when you seek change outside
yourself, in the surrounding world.
The concept of being honest and being on time in binding the
very basic values of the people is very important. Of course, being
punctual should not apply only to teachers but to every Filipino.
The Department of Education is supporting the call of the
president for transparency in governance. Thus, the department
launched Project WATCH – An Advocacy Movement for Punctuality
and Honesty.
Alfredo A. Aledia Elementary School conducted continuous
Parents’ Orientation and Launching on Awareness of Project
W.A.T.C.H during P. T. A meeting in the past years. In new normal
set up due to pandemic, it is done through virtual and online to
ensure the safety of public. It is perfect to teach children honesty
and punctuality if parents are more aware of these values, the
clearer they will be in expressing and communicating to their
children.
Another way of promoting punctuality and honesty is by
posting different signages about Project W.A.T.C.H in every Purok in
our locality for awareness and reminder that these two core values
are elements of success in daily lives. People living in a certain
place can always read it, reflect it and be reminded of its
importance.
The Barangay Council of Lasang, Davao City signed a
Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the school in supports
of the plans and projects in the strengthening the advocacy in the
W.A.T.C.H Program.
Our school posted W.A.T.C.H corner in every classroom for
awareness and reminders for commitment on the consciousness of
punctuality and honesty. There is also bulletin board posted in our
school campus for updates and information dissemination about
incoming W.A.T.C.H activities.
The campaign for local and international W.A.T.C.H advocacy
is also organized in support as cognizant for everyone to signify step
in bringing fundamental change, societal transformation and
conceptualized support to the said goal to push forward the
recognition of punctuality and honesty to the core values in
national renewal and development.
Brigada Eskwela and Oplan Balik-eskwela is also the
fundamental core for this goal relative to the pursuant and in
consideration of the relevant regulations for the management of
COVID-19 issues. This highlights the application of knowledge and
convergence of the efforts to address the required health standards
and social issues at home, in school and in community in the
context of COVID-19. Thus involve the following social distancing
measures and practicing proper hygiene consistent to the protocol
standards urging to take consciousness in every move that we take.
Social media are relatively innovative tools for informing and
mobilizing the community in an advocacy effort. That’s why, the
school W.A.T.C.H coordinator in person of Mrs. Christy Faith B.
Altizo, joined the live Broadcast Coverage of “I Luv Lasang”the
official live broadcast of the office of the Barangay Council of
Lasang, Davao City spearheaded by Brgy. Captain Allan P. Simo-ag.
It is one way of promoting the advocacy on punctuality and honesty
especially in this time of pandemic. She reminds and encourages
the people living in Lasang, specifically the residents in Bucana,
Lasang, Davao City to practice and support the school Project
W.A.T.C.H and see the importance of these two core values in
achieving the success in ourlives.
Punctuality is a good sign that a person who observes it has
self-discipline and respect for other people. Honesty goes with it.
When you are on time, you don’t have to think of reasons like the
traffic to justify your being late even when you actually woke up
and left home late. We should not adopt “Filipino Time” because it
is a negative trait that we should change.
