1.Aim

cycle and prevent global warming through the wide dissemination of this information.
• Raise overall environmental awareness and factory skills by promulgating the concept of the CO2 reduction effect over the entire life
cycle.
• Contribute to a global reduction in greenhouse gases through the Low CO2 Kawasaki Brand.

Introduction of the First EV Waste Collection Truck in Japan

This EV waste collection truck, developed by a company based in Kawasaki, is the first of its kind to be introduced in Japan.
Kawasaki hopes that the introduction of this eco-friendly EV vehicle, which does not emit CO2 or NOx, will serve as a model
for similar initiatives to spread across Japan. As an environmentally-advanced city, Kawasaki will continue to help create a
low carbon society.

Kawasaki City

Kawasaki tries to upgrade recycle system and reduce carbon emission in Kawasaki Eco Town. Kawasaki starts
FS(Feasibility Study) to adapt IoT(Internet of Things) technologies for recycling industry in cooperation with NEC
Corporation, the enterprises in Kawasaki.

A joint venture with NEC Corporation

 Measuring the emission rate by sensor and the system optimize the
route for wastes collection. Conventionally, garbage collection trucks ran < Garbage collection
their fixed routes regardless of whether there was an actual accumulation management service > Citizen
of garbage. Considering this matter, on garbage bins, sensors that
measure the amount of garbage in order to streamline the collection routes.
