SUBJECT: Release Of Split Bushing For .82 Inch Wide MT 643/653 Charging Pump

EQUIPMENT AFFECTED: All MT(B) 643/653 Transmissions With .82 Inch Charging Pump

Introduction:
A new torque converter pump hub bushing has been released for all MT(B) 643 and MT(B) 653 transmissions with .82 inch
wide charging pump. The new bushing, P/N 29527101, is a split bushing with a clinch joint. The former bushing,
P/N 23046153, was a full-round bushing with no joint.

Interchangeability:
The new bushing is fully interchangeable with the former bushing. The new bushing requires proper orientation of the clinch
joint during bushing installation.

Service Parts Information:


The former parts will continue to be serviced until the current stock has been exhausted. At that time the former parts will be
cancelled.

New Service Procedures:


Using bushing installation tool J 36376, press the bushing into the charging pump bore to the dimension shown in Figure 1.
Make sure the bushing joint is located as shown in Figure 1.

New vs. Old Part Identification:


The new bushing, P/N 29527101, can be identified by the clinch joint. The former bushing, P/N 23046153, is full-round with
no joint.
