of the home energy system
is expected to enable drivers
to deliver power to their
homes with the battery in
their compatible EV to power

blackout or draw from stored
energy during peak rate times.
SunPower will become a
preferred installer for the
home energy system and offer
customers the opportunity
to add solar to their home.
The system will be available
with the retail launch of the
2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV,
expected for fall 2023.
Another initiative includes
a V2H pilot project between
GM Energy and Pacific
Gas and Electric Company
(PG&E) planned to enable
residential customers to
use their compatible EVs
along with a bi-directional
charger, as backup power for
essential home needs during

Graniterock to help deliver
energy solutions to customers,
while also helping to inform
future offerings.

As part of GM Energy,
Ultium Charge 360 will
continue to expand its
existing portfolio of integrated
public charging networks,
integrated mobile apps, and
additional product and service
offerings over time.

CELEBRATE FACILITY GRAND OPENING
Kubota Corp. and its subsidiary Great Plains Mfg. Inc. announced the grand
opening of a new construction equipment facility in Salina, Kan. The facility is
expected to help support demand for Kubota construction equipment in the U.S.,
starting with production of the Kubota SVL65 compact track loaders, which were
formerly manufactured in Japan.
First announced in 2020, the new facility is part of a $53 million expansion
that included the renovation of an existing 750,000 sq. ft. facility recently
vacated by an employer in the community. Its grand opening marks a major step
in the growth toward becoming a U.S. manufacturing hub for Kubota construction
equipment, with investments totaling more than $178 million planned through
2024, noted Linda Salem, president and CEO of Great Plains Mfg.
Phase I of the project, including mass production of the Kubota SVL65,
was completed earlier this year. The Phase II expansion will be a $124 million
investment that includes the installation of an automotive-grade eco-paint system
with two paint lines; expanded welding, assembly and fabrication areas; and
construction of a building addition that will increase production capacity. Phase II
is expected to be up and running by mid-2024, adding about 200 more jobs to
the area. The facility is expected to eventually employ more than 900 in future.
As the project nears completion, other types of Kubota construction equipment
are expected to be produced at the facility.

dynamometer facility in Plymouth,
Mich., aimed at accelerating
electric vehicle (EV) development.
The company said the facility is
expected to be capable of providing
full powertrain development support,
from testing and calibration of
individual drive components to
the complete driveline systems of
complex four-wheel-drive vehicles.
