II. POSITION SUMMARY

Primary Purpose of The Position

The Program Coordinator (PC) will oversee and manage the implementation of project activities
in the designated geographic area (Ma’rib) and ensure programming meets LWR standards and
adheres to project plans, particularly work plan, spending and monitoring and evaluation plans.
Program Coordinator also will ensure that partners follow international technical standards and
guidelines, including donor regulations and compliance, to deliver high-quality programming in
a timely manner.  Program Coordinator will be responsible to share security and needs
assessment updates. 
The Program Coordinator also plays a key role in liaising with local authorities and other
relevant stakeholders, including UN Clusters. S/he will be primarily responsible for tracking
indicator and activity progress and drafting inputs and activity summaries for progress reporting.
She/He will also participate in coordination meetings externally as requested and represent the
organization at project events and activities. She/He will also provide logistics and
administrative support for project and office functions when needed.
Main responsibilities 

Main responsibilities

  1.    Project Management:

50%  Ensure timely implementation of the project cooperation agreement and respecting deadline for reporting. 
 Establish clear reporting and communication lines with partners.
 Verification on the targeting of beneficiaries.
 Ensure partner narrative and financial reports are completed and submitted to the LWR-Yemen office on a tim
 Attend, organize or contribute to internal meetings, as appropriate (e.g., BVA review meetings with Corus H
off, review and close-out meetings) to share outcomes, identify gaps and lessons learned from other peer orga
assigned by the Program Manager. 
 Maintain an overview of humanitarian needs in the area of responsibility with a view to the strategic develop
projects both in current sites and in surrounding regions.
 Ensure security assessment and incidents are reported to the Program Manager. 

20% 2. Coordination/Representation

 Ensure clear overview of actors and services in area of responsibilities, enhancing coordination/complementa
agencies and referral pathways. 
 Attend and or seek with the partners’ focal points to ensure link/attendance to cluster meeting, working group
timely reporting of relevant information for the project.
 Support partners in coordination with MoPHP/GHO and DHO, ExU and MOPIC for project sub-agreement,
requirements in compliance with the host country policy.
 Under the guidance of the Program Manager, enhance LWR’s visibility in the country by actively developing
relationships with relevant stakeholders (e.g. beneficiaries, community leaders, local and national governmen
partner NGOs, donors, UN agencies and other NGOs) and represent LWR at relevant meetings (e.g. state and
government, sector-coordination and security).  
 Attend coordination meetings (clusters, working groups, and other coordinating bodies) for program- and off
subjects in area of operations as assigned by the Program Manager. 
  3. MEL/Knowledge management

25%  Ensuring project documents (report, pictures and beneficiaries success stories, administrative files) is up-to-d
compliance with departments' requirements (Liaison, Finance, program/MEAL).
 Ensure monitoring and verification for the targeting of beneficiaries including monitoring project outcomes p
workplan (Logframe) changes and challenges through the project. 
 Ensure LWR’s project management, financial and reporting tools and requirements are presented to and unde
partners.

  4. Other responsibilities

5%  Provide input on security analysis and assessment for site visits or contingency planning.
 Under the supervision of Program Manager, support in preparation of Success Stories facilitating communica
interview between beneficiariers, partners and LWR’s Communication Team as well as consolidating inputs
from the partners. 
 Provide assistance with project and office logistics or administrative needs, as requested.
 Carry out other duties assigned by the direct supervisor.

III. Knowledge & Skills    

Professional Experience 

 A Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Languages, Social sciences, project management, gender,


development studies or a related field.
 At least 2 years of professional experience working with humanitarian NGO, working in
program design and evaluation.
 Demonstrate complete familiarity with Project Cycle Management – strong project management
skills.
 Prior work experience in emergency project ideally in Ma'rib.
 At least 1 year experience in Health programming.
 Multi-sectoral experience in complex setting preferred. (Nutrition, WASH, Protection) 
 Demonstrate very good familiarity with Project Cycle Management.
 Familiarity with international humanitarian operations, coordination structures, and the mandates
of donors, UN agencies, and NGOs.
 Ability to communicate in a clear and coincise manner.
 Strong reporting skills (writing and editing)
 Good experience with monitoring tools and systems.

Personal requirements 

 Willing to regular travel to Ma'rib governorate (25% - equal to 40 hours per month).
 Ability to establish interpersonal relations for the benefit of owned organization. 
 Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
 Ability to plan ahead and output oriented.
 Strong team spirit with a positive attitude, comfortable in a multicultural environment.
 Good-humored a plus.

Languages 

 Arabic native speaker (compulsory).


 Proficient in English compulsory (written and spoken).

IV. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education

     Four years of high school, vocational school or equivalent.


 X      Two years of college or technical school   
     Four-year college degree 
      Advanced degree.
