PROBLEM / CONFLICT THEME/S

The problem or conflict in the drama was the corruption, how the health Corruption
cleanliness officer was corrupt and approved the butchers shop as clean Cleanliness
and fit to sell meat for human consumption. Cheating/ Deception

Event 1:- This is the opening scene where butcher is shown cutting some meat. A woman comes to buy meat and the butcher is trying to sell her
bones and not so good piece to which she argues bluntly and answers him back saying that she is no dog who would need bones. He tries same trick
with other customer a girl but he gets deceived when she leaves without paying.
Event 2:- Dongo, a health inspector who inspects the butchers shop when he asks him to give him signature on the license papers. He warns him to
tidy his shop and make it hygienic then only he will sign the papers and give him license. To this Butcher assures him that next week he would clean
the shop. Butcher is in problem and thinks what can be done.
Event 3:- He consults Kannubhai who is a Hindu trader, who knows Dongo very well and advices him to bribe Dongo. He says give him bones
which means money. This is similar as giving bones to dog, to giving cash to Dongo bribing him to get license for his shop is compared to a dog.
Turning point:- One week later when Dongo comes to the butchers shop to inspect, the butcher gives him a packet and says its bones to which
Dongo signs his license for his shop and eventually the butchers gets the license that certifies that his shop as clean and fit to sell meat for human
consumption.
Resolution:- The butcher finally gets the license that his shop as clean and fit to sell meat for human consumption. But in reality his shop was dirty
and unhygienic and he too was very dirty with blood on his apron. The irony here is that when the woman comes to buy meat she refuses to buy it
from such dirty and unhygienic shop, so it doesn’t matter that he got the license but his shop was still the same which cost him more as instead of
cleaning he bribed the inspector, which later affects him as nobody buys from his shop.
