WRITING TASK: Comics

Course: 3

 Aim: Write about historical events their possible influence in


the present.
 Language function: Describing Past Events
 Grammatical forms: Present perfect, simple past, adverbs of
frequency, adverbs of time, Connectors and transition words
related to biographical and historical texts (e.g., When…;
After…; In the same year…, In the 1950s…
 Due date: October 27th 2022 by 4:00pm.

Instructions: Imagine that you witnessed a very important historical event in your country
or around the world: The arrival of the Spaniards, The Independence Day, Armero’s
tragedy, Coffee triangle’s earthquake, The Bogotazo, September 11th, II world war, The fall
of the Berlin wall, etc.
How was it? What did you feel like?

Comic in which you narrate the event.
Have in mind the next aspects while you create your cartoon story:

 Give a short introduction.


 Describe the events that took place that day. and their possible influence in the
present.
 Have in mind to use the vocabulary seen in the course, as well as logical
connectors such as: first, second, third, next, then, also, so, however, because,
besides, while, etc.
 Share it in your virtual classroom in Schoology.
 Do not forget to upload your file following the protocol already established: Full
name, code, course, class date.
