Dahle 507/508 Square Cut Adjustment
Glide Bar
Cutting Head
Counter Blade
1) Begin with removing the red closure to take the glide bar and cutting head off the
trimmer.
2) Remove the plastic clamp by gently pulling up on the right side, working over to the left.
3) Flip the trimmer over and loosen the three screws on the left side holding the end piece
on, but do not take them out completely.
4) Flip it right side up again to begin the alignment procedure.
5) Place a block of wood next to the end piece and gently tap it with a rubber mallet. The
wood is to protect the gray trimmer side housing.
6) Use a square to recheck alignment to the counter blade.
7) Adjust as needed until square.
8) Gently flip the trimmer over and re‐tighten the screws.
9) ALWAYS double check the alignment after tightening and make sure the right‐side end
piece is aligned correctly as well.
10) To put the plastic clamp back in, the side with a hole goes to the left with the “rough”
texture of the clamp facing upward.
11) Insert the left side followed by the right using a bending motion.
12) Put the glide bar back in through the hole and put the cutting head back on. Make sure
the cutting head’s rubber wheel is against the clamp/ towards yourself. The yellow arrow
points to the rubber wheel, the red arrow points to the blade itself, which should be
away from you.
13) Push the glide bar in all the way and put the red closure back on.
14) Test using one sheet of regular printing paper.
