Quality Control and Quality assurance, visual inspection and NDT.
 Performing incoming inspection of row material as per sampling and inspection and test plan
(ITP), performing visual inspection of plate, ingot, forging etc.
 Immediate inform to HOD for non conference of material and reporting to supplier for
rejection and acceptance of material.
 Maintain accurate and complete record of inspection item during inspection so that
permanent record can be generated for inspected item.
 Update and maintain latest revision of project document .
 Final product Measurement: inside diameter, outside diameter, out of roundness, PCD,
length, groove depth, squareness, root face, bead height, bevel angle, peaking, local
peaking, straightness, flatness, camber, diagonal, waviness, radius etc.
 Measurement of diameter using vernier caliper, (digital and analog) rod gauge, c gauge etc.
 Measurement wall thickness, using micrometer, ultrasonic thickness gauge etc.
 Measurement of miss alignment using hi-low gauge, etc
 Measurement of bevel angle using bevel protector, digital and analog.
 Compression of surface roughness as per requirement of customer .
 Visual inspection of all engineering material for pitting, surface roughness, crack, dent etc.
 Preparation of inspection procedure as per client specification, international like API 5L, DNV
GL, DEP, IOGP, shell specification and ITP.
 Performing Ultrasonic testing of plate with AUTO UT 224 channel machine for plate width :
1000 mm to 5000 mm, and manual UT for untested end of plate.
 Performing Real time radiography inspection for weld as per ITP and customer requirement for
defect like, porosity, Gas pocket, slag, LOP, LOF, crack, etc, confirming X-ray sensitivity by
using pentrameter ISO wire type and hole type, maintaining testing speed for smooth detection of
defect.
 Performing magnetic particle inspection of bevel face, root face, weld and body, by using wet
magnetic particle like wet fluorescent in ultraviolet light, and visible magnetic particle inspection
in ambient light, maintaining record of equipment calibration, testing parameter like yoke lifting,
black light intensity, white light intensity, water break test, particle setting in centrifugal tube,
 Detecting defect in magnetic particle inspection like, crack and lamination on bevel and root face,
and open porosity crack and other welding defect at weld seam.
 Performing Auto weld Ultrasonic inspection of weld seam by 24 channel Olympus NDT Canada
machine, preparation of reference standard on weld seam for calibration of equipment like Notch
(type N5 longitudinal and transverse) , radially drilled hole, side drilled hole, Flat bottom hole,
 Verification of instrument standardization according to ITP and NDT procedure,
 Radiography inspection of weld, film radiography of weld seam as per API 5L, DNV GL, DEP,
IOGP, shell specification and ITP.
 Performing radiography as per class A and class B, technique: single wall single image for higher
diameter and double wall single image for smaller diameter, developing and exposing film as per
ITP, placing ISO pentameter for sensitivity and density calculation,
 Interpretation of film for weld defect, maintain all record of radiography like dark room, film
storage, X-ray machine maintenance etc.
 Preparation of ITP, project planning sheet, accordance with client specification and API 5L,
DNVGL ST F1010, ISO 3183, IOGP specification and customer specification like Data sheet,
MTO, projection specification etc.
 Preparation of all QA document like, enquiry checklist, steel specification, steel calculation,
material checklist, as per client specification and plant capacity,
 Compliance customer requirement as per plant capabilities.
 Preparation of audit related document like, audit report, report format, procedure, etc.
 Visual and dimensional inspection of LSAW, Ductile iron pipe as per ITP, and product plant and
process sheet,
 Measuring all dimension of pipes like length, width, diagonal, camper, wall thickness, bevel
angle, joint preparation, bead height, out of roundness, peaking, flatness, straightness, squaireness,
toe angle, miss alignment of weld bead, diameter ( outside diameter and inside diameter) etc.
 Measuring dimension during MPQT and production, according to ITP station wise, bevel angle
(TOP angle, bottom angle and face height) at edge milling station,
 Verification of current voltage and travel speed during welding
 Visual inspection of pipe and plate before, during and after welding for defect like, open porosity,
weld twist, laps, crack, oval shape, under cut, under fill, before expansion diameter and after
expansion diameter, % of expansion, etc.
 Review of hydro test report as per ITP, client specification and project specific requirement,
calculation of hydro test pressure as per diameter, wall thickness & yield strength of material.
 Final inspection of pipe as per company ITP, and customer requirement.
 Marking with robot as per approved marking instruction.

Welding
 Review and maintain the welding consumable and test certificate batch wise,
 Ensuring the welding is carried out as per the approved WPS.
 Preparation of WPS, PQR and conducting PQT, WQT as per applicable codes, Standards and
specifications.
 Planning and monitoring of welding consumables, welding and visual inspection, as per WPS,
QCP and ITP.
 Review the customer specification for welding requirement.
 Ensure the calibration of welding equipment and instrument.
 Ensuring the fabrication & erection activities are going on as per approved specification &
procedure.
 Capable to review ITP, Procedure, Method statement &Specification for the project.
 Preparation of weld map and maintaining the weld record.
 Ensure the minimize the welding defect due to quality of welding consumable and welder point
of view.
 Making sure the Material Traceability is available before, during & after welding.
 Generate weekly and monthly reports on the quality status of all activities.
 Monitoring the calibration of test instruments and equipment’s.
 Handling manpower accordance with production schedule,
 Indent and maintain all welding instrument and equipment project wise.
 Preparation of test package for Hydro testing.
 Supervise the construction to avoid non-conformity and technical deviations.
 Taking care QA/QC works of an assigned area where pipeline and piping works are going on.

 Maintaining the quality of pipes at forming stage on mill.
 Conducting internal audits and monitoring process stage wise inspection to reduce rejections.
 Formulating final inspection report of all the lines and giving suggestions to Construction team
to reduce rejections and rework.

Mechanical testing
 Verification and witness of mechanical test as per ITP and lab manual.
 Review mechanical testing like, hardness, tensile, charpy, DWTT, HIC, as per customer
requirement.
 Preparation of 3.2 report certification for final product.
