Plot Alfredo Salazar tried to the reminiscence of how he met Julia Salas that gives confusion to him. His father and him went neighboring to Judge
Del Valle and met Julia Salas whom he mistakenly addressed as Miss Del Valle the entire Evening. Since then, Alfredo and his family
frequently went to Judge Del Valle's house. Slowly, Alfredo realizes that he is enjoying Julia Salas company yet he has Esperanza, his fiancé
for about years. Before Holy Week, Don Julian's family invited Judge Del Valle's family to spend the afternoon at Tanda where Don Julian
had a Coconut Plantation and a house on the beach. Julia told Alfredo that this will be the last time she can visit their Coconut Plantation for
 she is going back to his hometown to spend the holy week with her parents. Julia found out about Alfredo's engagement with Esperanza and
congratulate him. Alfredo tried to express his feeling indirectly but Julia didn’t want Alfredo not to honor his promise to Esperanza.
Eventually, she bid her goodbyes to Alfredo that pursue him to fulfill the promise that made a long time ago.

In 8 years of marriage to Esperanza, Alfredo had a business trip to a town where Julia lives. He saw Julia whom he never forgot and learned
that she is still unmarried. Alfredo that time realized that his feeling for her is not like before, his feeling for her had fade away.

Symbolism The dead star pertains to Alfredo's affection to Julia Salas. He taught what he had with Julia seems to be real, he also taught they had sparks and
twinkles like the star but when he saw her again the sparkling and twinkling had lost and fades like a dead star.
