IS THE OFFER IRREVOCABLE?

1. Angie calls Ben and offers to sell Ben her house for $150,000 and promises to keep the

offer open for 30 days.

This contract is irrevocable because it was an oral promise that was not written and without

consideration, and signed writing was.

Sandy’s offer is revocable. Sandy is a merchant who deals with radios and has offered an open

with an open promise. The promise is not binding because there is neither signed writing nor

consideration.

Sandy's offer is irrevocable for 3 months under UCC 2-205, and she has promised to keep the

offer open through signed writing. Under UCC2-205, an offer has an irrevocable period of 3

months at maximum. However, the offer will remain irrevocable for another 3 months if it is not

terminated during the first three months. That is, if Sandy revokes or Ben makes a rejection of

the offer.
