Cave ambiance

Here you can see how the background music appears on the timeline. This audio clip lasts the entire
duration of the clip as its purpose is to add some ambiance to make this clip feel a lot more in-depth.

Here is the edited audio from the background music. You can see that I
have heavily decreased the sound levels of it. This is because its
background music. If it was any louder it could ruin the clip as if the
background music is all that you can hear your attention would be taken
away from all the rest of the audio. You can also see that I changed the
reverb of the clip. This is because when you’re in a cave things are
meant to be echoey so changing the reverb to replicate this is key. I also
changed the pre-set to wide and deep just to further replicate the
sounds of a cave.

Bats on the roof of the cave

Here you see the clips of the bats the are on the ceiling at the beginning of the clip. As you can see
there are four separate clips in this section. This is because one continuous clip wouldn’t have
sounded right in this situation so I cut up one clip into the four parts that I thought would fit best in
the clip and dragged them onto the timeline.
Here is the edited audio of the bats on the roof. As you can see I combined all the
edited audio of all four clips into one to evenly edit them. When editing this clip you
can see that I heavily decreased the audio levels but increased the amount of reverb
to emulate the echo a bat would make whilst squealing in a cave. You can also see
that I used the heavy reverb pre-set to make the reverb be a lot more present in the
scene.

Cage door opening

Here is how the audio clip of the cage door opening appears on the timeline. This clip may seem long
but it is not the case as this clip isn’t even a second long. Although the clip was very short the sound
was very necessary as you couldn’t just have a scene with no noise as every little detail counts.
Here is the edited audio for the door opening. You can see that not much has
changed but the little I have done to the audio has changed it entirely. As you can
see, I have only slightly decreased the level of the audio this is because the audio
clip was very quiet to begin with. But I did change the level of reverb to make It
echo. I also changed the pre-set to medium shot to make it sound further away
as the camera angle is further away.

Bats becoming alert

Here you can see the audio clip of the bats once the door has opened causing the bats to become
alert. This adds a sense of scariness as the squeal of the alert is quite blood curdling.
Here you can see the audio tab of the alert clip. As you
Bats flying can see I have only mildly tweaked this clip as not much
change was needed but you can see that I have
increased reverb to display the echo as per ever other
clip and I have also decreased the audio level as the
original audio clip was quite loud.

Here you can see the audio clip of the bats flying. As you can see I have layered this audio clip to
make it sound like a cluster of bats are flying instead of a very two dimensional sound of just the one
clip.
Here you can see the audio tab of the bats flying. I have combined
both clips together into one edited audio file but it still has a great
effect to the audio clip. I changed the pre-set to make distant just
so the bats do sound like they are flying away. I also decreased the
audio volume to make the bats sound like they are further away
rather than up close. I also added reverb to emulate the sound of a
cave

Walking on metal

Here you can see the clipped audio file of someone walking on a metal floor. This is perfect for this
video as the flooring of the cave is metal and rock but they would both make the same so it was so
much easier to edit some scenes.
Here you can see the audio window of the walking clip. As you
can see I had to heavily increase the audio because the clip was
way too quiet for the video but I also added reverb to make the
steps sound like they can be heard from all around the cave.

Bats flying past

Here you can see the bats flying by on the timeline this was very key for the scene where the bats
rush past Bruce Wayne as you can see the clip was quite short so I had to extend the clip by adding it
again just to make it last longer.
Here is the audio widow of the bats flying past. As you can see, I have
increased reverb to simulate the bats flying past a sound that slowly
fades out. I also decreased the volume a little bit as the bats appear to
be further away from the camera.

Bat screams

Here you can see the clip of the bats screaming. I used this clip as when the bats have flown past I
wanted to make it appear that they have went far away as the camera pans to Alfred so I doubled up
on the layering to make it appear to be the entire group screaming.
Here you can see the audio tab for the bat screaming. As you can see I
heavily decreased the audio to simulate the bat being further away than it
was. I also changed the pre-set to make distant which made the scream
seem much further away than it was.

Elevator holding suite

Here you can see the lift audio which can be seen whilst Alfred is walking which is the first clip as the
audio has top be slightly quieter as he is further away then we get to Bruce Wayne’s perspective
where its much closer so the second clip is louder than the first to simulate the change of
perspective.
Here is the audio clip from further away and as you can see the
audio is much lower than any other clip on this video. I will not add
the second clip into this document to try and save space but the
more up close clip is a lot louder than this clip just to describe it.

Elevator opens

Here you can see the audio clip of the elevator opening. I used gas decompressing to simulate the
sound which I would imagine would sound like gas decompressing. This was also a very short clip so
the sound didn’t have to be too long.
Here you can see the audio window for the elevator opening. As you
can see there has been little to no editing done to this sound effect
except a tiny decrease in audio. The reverb hasn’t been changed as you
wouldn’t hear the echo as the camera is so close to it.

Putting on bat suit

As you can see there are a lot of separate clips for this scene but each one is very key to building up
suspense. As you can also tell some clips are shorter than the rest. This is due to the amount of
screen time each one has.
Here you can see one of the audio clips from the suit up scene.
This is where he puts on the gloves. I used the sound of someone
putting on latex gloves to emulate this sound of putting on the
gloves. As you can see no work was done on the audio. This is
because you do not need to add reverb due to it being so up
close.
Suspenseful audio

This wasn’t needed at all but I felt like it would make the clip feel a lot more alive. So I used a nice
suspenseful background track whilst Batman slowly walks towards the Bat wing.
Here you can see how I tweaked the suspenseful audio to suit the scene
and all I had to do was decrease the audio so that the music didn’t
interfere with the rest of the sounds In the rest of this scene.

Buttons being pressed on his arm

Here you can see that I spliced 3 separate clips together. This is because I wanted 3 different sounds
to be heard for the 3 different button presses, he did instead of having just one for all of them to
have some sort of difference.
Her you can see the audio window for all three button presses. I edited
all their audio as one just so that they would be equal. As you can see I
have increased reverb because this scene is shot from further back
meaning it’ll have more echo.

Bat wing starting up

Here I used the sound of a jet starting up to finish this clip off as I’m pretty sure that the bat wing is a
form of jet. Luckily this clip was long enough to span the rest of the clip so it won’t sound choppy.
Here is the audio window for the jet starting up. As you can see
I decreased the audio only a little bit as every time we see the
bat wing it isn’t that close to us so it’ll be a little quieter than it
would be if it was fully up close.
