National
1. On 1st June 2022, the latest edition of the Asia
University Rankings was released by the Times
Higher Education (THE). The 2022 edition of the
rankings comprises 616 universities from 31
countries and territories across Asia. India is the
third most-represented country in this 2022
rankings with 71 institutions making this list.
2. The government of Bihar will soon be
conducting a caste-based census in the state. This
decision was taken at an all-party meeting that
was chaired by Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister
of the state on 1st June 2022. The Chief Minister
announced that the exercise would be named Jaati
Aadharit Ganana.
3. Ashok Gehlot, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan
has announced that Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna
Award will be introduced in the state for various
sportspersons. The Rajasthan government is
taking big decisions to develop sports in the state,
and the incentive amounts received by the medal
winners will increase with time.
4. An app named "ACB 14400" has been launched
by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y. S.
Jagan Mohan Reddy. This app was launched to
curb corruption at government offices across the
State. This app has been developed by the Anti-
Corruption Bureau (ACB). Through this app, the
people can lodge corruption related complaints
against any government officials in the State.
5. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi
highlighted that, India has achieved 10 percent
ethanol blending of petrol, five months before the
schedule. 10 percent ethanol blending has reduced
carbon emission by 27 lakh tonnes. It has saved
India's Rs. 41,000 crore on oil imports, in foreign
exchange spending.
6. On the occasion of World Food Safety Day, the
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare released
the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India
(FSSAI) led 4th State Food Safety Index (SFSI).
The 4th State Food Safety Index was released for
measuring the performance of States on five
parameters of food safety.
7. On 2nd June 2022, the government of
Maharashtra launched the faceless Regional
Transport Offices (RTOs) to help the citizens of
the state avail facilities such as driving licences,
etc, without the need of being physically present
at the RTOs. This initiative was launched by the
Minister of State for Transport Satej Patil.
8. Amitabh Kant, CEO of NITI Aayog has said
that Aadhaar has become the substructure for
various government welfare schemes. Aadhar,
which is issued by UIDAI, has saved more than
Rs. 2 lakh crore for the government by eliminating
duplicate and fake identities. The NITI Aayog
CEO has said that Aadhaar is one of the world's
most-successful biometric identity programs.
9. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) under
Operation Mahila Suraksha has rescued 150
women and girls from falling into the trap of
human trafficking syndicates. This initiative is
being run by the railways with the aim of
providing security to women while they travel on
trains.
10. The central government is planning to set up
state-of-the-art 'PM Shri schools' with the aim of
preparing students for the future and these schools
will act as the laboratory of the new National
Education Policy (NEP). The announcement of
the 'PM Shri Schools' was made by Education
Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan who was
addressing the two-day National Education
Minister's Conference in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
11. A new colourful species of leopard named
"Eublepharis pictus" was recently identified by
researchers. The species is also known as Painted
Leopard Gecko. The species is common in forests
of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. And
geographically appears to be separated by
Brahmani River.
12. Global initiative "Lifestyle for Environment
Movement" was launched by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi on the occasion of "World
Environment Day" on 5th June 2022. During the
launch of initiative, PM noted that, challenges on
earth are well-known to all. Thus, there is a need
of human-centric, collective efforts and robust
action to strengthen the sustainable development.
13. Anurag Thakur, Union Minister for Youth
Affairs and Sports has launched a nationwide 'Fit
India Freedom Rider Cycle Rally' on 3rd June
2022 from Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, Delhi.
This rally was launched on the occasion of World
Bicycle Day 2022. A distance of 7.5 km was
covered by the Union Minister along with 750
young cyclists during the cycle rally that
commenced from the Major Dhyan Chand
Stadium.
14. An elephant rescue centre has been established
by the forest department of Bihar at Valmiki Tiger
Reserve at West Champaran district of Bihar. The
elephant rescue centre will be used to rehabilitate
stray, abandoned and injured elephants. This
facility is yet to be approved by central
government.
15. The government of Punjab has abolished
physical stamp papers with the aim of bringing
more efficiency and checking the pilferage of the
state revenue. After this decision, stamp papers of
any denomination can currently be obtained via e-
stamp (computerized print-out) from any
authorized banks or stamp vendors. Earlier, the e-
stamping facility in the state was applicable only
for valuations of above Rs. 20,000 but according
to the new rules, this facility has been extended
for all denominations starting from One Rupee.
16. The Baikho festival is celebrated in the state of
Assam, which is called as gateway to northeast
India. It is celebrated by Rabha tribes of India.
Assam is having a diverse flora and fauna. It is
also known as land of Red River and Blue Hills. It
is a nucleus, that inhibits beautiful biodiversity of
India.
17. 2022 Environmental Performance Index (EPI)
was released recently, ranking 180 countries on 40
performance indicators in 11 issue categories of
climate change performance, ecosystem vitality
and environmental health. In the index, India has
been ranked at 180th position, bottom of the 2022
Index.
18. Maharashtra State Board for Wildlife
(MSBWL) recently approved 12 new conservation
reserves and 3 wildlife sanctuaries, for boosting
wildlife conservation movement and environment
protection movement. These protected areas (PAs)
will have an area of around 1,000 sq km. In this,
an area of 692.74 sq km will be for conservation
reserves while an area of 303 sq km will be for
wildlife sanctuaries.
19. During the celebration of World Environment
Day 2022; the Chief Minister of Sikkim, P. S.
Golay, declared Blue Duke as "State Butterfly of
Sikkim". This was announced at Saramsa Garden
near Ranipool, in an event organized by Forest
department. Blue Duke edged past Krishna
Peacock, which was to be announced as State
Butterfly of Sikkim.
20. Recently, the Apex Court directed that every
protected forest, national park and wildlife
sanctuary across India should have a mandatory
eco-sensitive zone (ESZ) of minimum 1 km,
starting from demarcated boundaries. This
direction came from a three judge Bench
comprising of Justices L. Nageswara Rao,
Aniruddha Bose and B. R. Gavai.
21. According to the 14th Assam rhino estimation,
Rhinos in Manas National Park have higher life
expectancy, however they need translocation
support. Rhino census was carried out in all three
ranges of Manas National Park namely,
Bhuyanpara, Bansbari and Panbari, comprising of
71 estimation blocks.
22. The Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry
has invited public feedback on the New Draft
National Policy on Disability (PwD), that
proposes interventions in disability prevention,
healthcare, education, accessibility and social
security.
23. Appointment of new chief Justices in five high
courts has been approved by Central Government.
Justice Vipin Sanghi has been appointed to
Uttarakhand HC. Justice Ujjal Bhuyan will be
appointed to Telangana HC. Justice Amjad
Ahtesham Sayed appointed to Himachal Pradesh
HC. Justice Shinde Sambhaji Shiwaji appointed to
Rajasthan HC. Justice Rashmin M. Chhaya
appointed to Guwahati HC. Chief Justice Satish
Chandra Sharma appointed to Delhi HC.
24. As a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Union
Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman
inaugurated the "National Museum of Customs
and GST". The National Museum of Customs and
GST called "Dharohar" was inaugurated in Goa.
Museum was inaugurated as part of Azadi Ka
Amrit Mahotsav Iconic week (6th June to 12th June
2022) of Ministry of Finance.
25. On 14th June 2022, Uttar Pradesh Government
decided to give incentives for setting units in first
medical device park of states. This unit has been
proposed on 350 acre of land in Sector 28 of the
Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development
Authority (YEIDA). Government also decided to
implement Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Kisan
Samridhi Yojana in state till 2026 - 27.
26. Institute for Management Development
recently compiled and released the annual World
Competitive Index on 15th 2022. India witnessed
sharpest rise among Asian countries. India's
witnessed a six-position rise from 43rd to 37th
rank, due to gains in economic performance.
27. On 14th June 2022, Prime Minister Narendra
Modi inaugurated a temple in Dehu near Pune in
Maharashtra, which is dedicated to 17th century
saint Tukaram Maharaj. Tukaram Maharaj was a
warkari saint and poet. He was a prominent figure
in Bhakti movement.
28. According to data from sample registration
system (SRS), India's life expectancy at birth has
reached up to 69.7 during 2015 - 2019. Data was
released by demographic survey. India's life
expectancy at birth has reached up after 10 years.
However, it is still below the global average of
72.6.
29. Chief Election Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar,
recently announced the schedule for President
Election 2022. Voting for Presidential Election
will be held on 18th July 2022 while votes will be
counted on 21st July 2022. The tenure of current
President Ram Nath Kovind is set to end on 24th
July 2022.
30. According to a report by World Gold Council
(WGC), India has become the fourth largest gold
recycler worldwide. In 2021, it has recycled 75
tonnes of gold. In the report, China was ranked
first in global gold recycling chart, Italy at second
position and US at third position.
31. Assam has been experiencing unprecedented
floods and landslides over the last one week. This
has affected million people and left people dead
too. In last 34 hours, 10 people were killed and 7
went missing. Assam has been experiencing more
concentrated and heavy rainfall episodes because
of climate change.
32. On 23rd June 2022, Government of Delhi
issued an order to ban the entry of medium and
heavy goods vehicles in Delhi, starting from
November to February, in order to curb vehicular
pollution. As per official, entry of vehicles will
not be allowed from 1st November 2022 to 28th
February 2023. This is because, vehicular
pollution deteriorates air quality during winter
months.
33. On 24th June 2022, the tenure of current chief
of Research and Analysis wing (RAW), Samant
Kumar Goel, was extended by one year. Tenure
was extended by appointments committee of
cabinet (ACC), till 30th June 2023. It is the second
extension of service for Samant Kumar Goel.
34. On 27th June 2022, Department of School
Education and Literacy (DoSE&L) of Ministry of
Education (MoE) released the "Performance
Grading Index for Districts (PGI-D)" report for
the year 2018 - 19 and 2019 - 20. PGI-D assesses
the performance of school education system at
District level by formulating an index for
comprehensive analysis.
35. On 27th June 2022, the supreme court asked 16
rebel Shiv Sena MLAs to respond to
disqualification notice issued by Deputy Speaker,
until 12th July 2022. Earlier, deputy speaker had
given 48 hours to MLAs to respond. In this crisis,
references have been made to landmark 1992
judgment in 'Kihoto Hollohan vs Zachillhu And
Others'. In this case, Supreme Court upheld
sweeping discretion available with the Speaker in
deciding disqualification of MLAs cases.

1. The first commercial flight from Sanaa Airport,
Yemen to Cairo, Egypt has been welcomed by the
United Nations. The first commercial flight
between both took off on 1st June 2022. This was
the seventh flight that was operated under the
terms that were brokered by the United Nations
for two months of nationwide truce.
2. Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu,
reached Senegal (West Africa), on 2nd June 2022
and led delegation level talks with President of
Senegal (H. E. Mr. Macky Sall). During the talks,
Vice President of India assured India's continued
commitment to Senegal, in a bid to support socio-
economic development of Senegal by means of
bilateral, regional and international frameworks.
3. On 2nd June 2022, Prime Minister of Canada
Justin Trudeau signed a USD 1 billion deal, to
settle a century-old land claim of Blackfoot tribe.
Government took around half of the reserve lands
of tribes in Alberta province in 1910, in order to
use it for resources development as well as to sell
to settlers.
4. Recently, a 20-year-old woman received a 3-D
printed ear implant as she was born with a small
and misshapen right ear. The 3-D printed ear
implant was made from her own cells. This
transplant was a part of first clinical trial of
successful medical application of this technology
and turned as an advance in the field of tissue
engineering.
5. At the United Nations, Turkey will now be
known as Turkiye. This decision was taken after
intergovernmental body agreed to a formal request
of Ankara for the name change. Acceptance of
this name change at United Nations marks the
start of similar process of adoption by similar
bodies and international organisations.
6. On 4th June 2022, the Scientists, researchers and
activists from across the world gathered in
Stockholm. They were expected to issue a strong
resolution for to phase out fossil fuels as well as to
support developing nations in their transition to
clean energy.
7. On 5th June 2022 China successfully launched
the 3rd Crewed Mission to its New Space Station.
Three Astronauts will continue the construction
work for six months. Astronauts were lifted off on
Shenzhou-14 spacecraft. It was launched by a
Long March 2F rocket from Jiuquan Satellite
Launch Center, located in Gobi Desert of Inner
Mongolia.
8. Joint Military Exercise between India and
Bangladesh, Ex SAMPRITI-X, was started from
5th June 2022 at Jashore Military Station in
Bangladesh. It will be concluded on 16th June
2022. The Ex SAMPRITI-X is being conducted
with the aim of strengthening interoperability
between both the armies and to understand each
other's operational techniques and tactical drills.
9. On 5th June 2022, the BJP suspended its
national spokesperson Nupur Sharma as well
expelled its Delhi spokesperson Naveen Kumar
Jindal, after their comments about Islam and the
Prophet recently. This was done after three Gulf
countries, Kuwait, Iran and Qatar, had summoned
the Indian ambassadors to their nations for
registering their protest. The countries also
demanded for public apology from India.
10. NASA is set to launch a mission called
"DAVINCI Mission". DAVINCI stands for "Deep
Atmosphere Venus Investigation of Noble gases,
Chemistry and Imaging Mission". The mission
will fly by Venus and explore its harsh
atmosphere in 2029. It will be the first mission to
study Venus by means of both flybys and descent.
11. On 5th June 2022, the Vice President of India
M. Venkaiah Naidu launched the India-Qatar
Start-Up bridge. During his visit to Qatar, Vice
President met Prime Minister as well as Interior
Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz
Al Thani.
12. On 8th June 2022, India and Vietnam signed a
joint vision statement along with a military
logistic support pact. Both the pacts would
enhance the scope and scale of existing defence
cooperation between both the countries. There is a
need to enhance the scope of defence cooperation
in a bid to secure strategic interests in Indo-Pacific
region, that China seeks to dominate.
13. On 8th June 2022, Algeria announced to
suspend its treaty of "friendship, good
neighbourliness, and co-operation", that it signed
with Spain 20 years ago. This move has proved
beneficial for both the countries. It came after
Spain decided to shifting its position regarding
Western Sahara dispute.
14. QS World University Rankings 2022 was
released recently, in which Indian Institute of
Science (IISc) Bengaluru has become the highest
ranked Indian Institute. Rank of IISc Bengaluru
has improved by 31 places. Among the Indian
institute, IIT-Bombay has been ranked second
while IIT-Delhi has been ranked third.
15. According to United Nations Conference on
Trade and Development (UNCTAD), India has
jumped by one position to 7th in year 2021, among
the top recipients of foreign direct investment
(FDI). UNCTAD announced in its latest World
Investment Report, which was released on 9th June
2022.
16. Members of the European Parliament recently
voted to ban the sale of new petrol and diesel cars
by 2035. This voting was held on an amendment,
that would have allowed some auto emissions
through new vehicles after 2035. This amendment
was rejected by Members of Parliament.
17. The Ninth Summit of the Americas 2022 was
held from 6th June to 10th June 2022. It is an
international conference and was held in Los
Angeles, United States. Summit of the Americas
2022 was held under the theme of "Building a
Sustainable, Resilient, and Equitable Future".
18. The 19th Shangri-La Dialogue was hosted in
Singapore, from 10th June to 12th June 2022, in
Singapore after two years. Asia's premier security
summit was discontinued due to covid-19
pandemic. It is hosted by International Institute for
Strategic Studies (IISS).
19. The Suraksha-Mitra project has become
operational in the State of Kerala. Suraksha-Mitra
Project is a vehicle monitoring system. It sends
distress messages in case of any accident. Motor
Vehicle Department has launched this project
under Nirbhaya Scheme. This system will send a
distress message to owner's mobile phones, if
there are any untoward incidents while travelling.
20. On 10th June 2022, the United Nations General
Assembly (UNGA) adopted an India-led
resolution on multilingualism mentioning Hindi
language for the first time. This resolution
encourages United Nations to continue
disseminating important communications and
messages in official and non-official languages,
including Hindi.
21. The 12th Ministerial Conference of World
Trade Organization (WTO) started on 12th June
2022. It is being held at WTO headquarters in
Geneva, Switzerland. It was due to take place in
2021 but got postponed due to covid-19
pandemic.
22. A new comprehensive Geological map of the
Moon was released by China. It is the most
detailed map till date. The Geological Map is
likely to make a significant contribution to
scientific research, exploration and landing site
selection on the Moon. Chinese scientists have
created the high-resolution topographic map on
the basis of data from Chinese lunar exploration
project called "Chang'e project".
23. Australia appointed an "Assistant Minister for
The Republic", in a move towards ending the
leadership of Queen Elizabeth II. This move
triggered a fresh wave of speculations, that British
monarch will no longer be considered the head of
the state.
24. Recently, China proposed a plan to launch a
solar power plant in space, in order to get
inexhaustible power in 2028, two years before the
original schedule. China had planned to establish a
solar power station of 1 megawatt capacity, in
space by 2030.
25. The Agricultural and Processed Food Products
Export Development Authority (APEDA) is
organising an eight day long mango festival in
Bahrain, in order to boost Mango export. During
the mango festival, 34 varieties of mangoes are
being displayed. All the mangoes have been taken
from eastern states of West Bengal, Jharkhand,
Bihar, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh.
26. The Khuvsgul Lake National Park of
Mongolia has been added to the World Network
of Biosphere Reserves by UNESCO. This
decision was taken during 34th session of
International Co-ordinating council of Man and
Biosphere Programme. This programme is taking
place in Paris, France.
27. Recently, Israel and Haryana government
signed a joint declaration in capacity building and
integrated water resources management. The joint
declaration is a significant milestone as India and
Israel are celebrating 30 years of full diplomatic
relations.
28. Gustavo Petro has become the first leftist
President of Colombia. He secured 50.5% of vote
in second round of the presidential election, which
was held on 19th June 2022. Gustavo Petro is an
environmental and human rights activist. He was a
part of urban guerrilla outfit called M-19. M-19
was established in 1970.
29. On 21st June South Korea launched its first
domestically built space rocket in second attempt.
Space rocket was launched months after its
previous lift-off could not place a payload into
orbit. Successful launch of the space rocket would
boost the growing space ambitions of South
Korea.
30. On 21st June 2022, over 6,000 people gathered
at Stonehenge in Britain's Wiltshire to celebrate
the summer solstice, which is the longest day of
year in northern hemisphere. People arrived at the
spot to see sunrise directly behind the largest stone
at World Heritage site in southwest England.
31. Government of Canada has launched
"Canada's Greenhouse Gas Offset Credit System",
in a bid to reduce carbon pollution. Reducing
greenhouse gases from waste, which is
responsible for 7 percent of greenhouse gases in
Canada, is a key component for achieving
Canada's emissions reduction targets.
32. The second consignment of relief materials
from Tamil Nadu was sent from to Sri Lanka on
22nd June 2022. The relief material was sent to
people of Sri Lanka, who are affected by an
economic crisis. The Ship carried 15,000 metric
tonnes of essential commodities.
33. On 23rd June 2022 External Affairs Minister
(EAM) Dr. S. Jaishankar addressed the
"Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting
(CHOGM) Foreign Minister's plenary", which
was held in Rwanda. The meeting was delayed by
two years, due to covid-19 pandemic. CHOGM
Foreign Minister's plenary was held in Rwanda,
under the theme of "Democracy, Peace and
Governance".
34. The World Bank (WB) has approved a USD
245 million loan to extend support for Railway
Logistics Project. World Bank loan will support
India's efforts of modernising rail freight and
logistics infrastructure. As per statement, capacity
constraints of Indian Railways have reduced the
speed & reliability of shipments as well as limited
the volumes.
35. ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL) recently
discovered oil in a drilled well, Urraca-IX, in
Colombia. While testing with Electrical
Submersible Pump (ESP) initially, fluid flowed at
around 600 barrels per day. Oil discovery in
Lower Mirador play in the well has opened up
new areas to further explore in northern part of the
block.
36. On 25th June 2022, the central bank of China
inked an agreement with the Bank for
International Settlements (BIS), for establishing a
Renminbi Liquidity Arrangement (RMBLA). The
Renminbi Liquidity Arrangement will provide
support to participating central banks during
market fluctuations.
37. Russia has announced to transfer the
"Iskander-M Missile System" to Belarus. This
missile system can use ballistic or cruise missiles,
in their nuclear and conventional versions.
Iskander-M missile system is codenamed as "SS-
26 Stone" by NATO. Iskander-M missile has a
range of 500 km. It is capable of carrying a
payload of up to 700 kg.
38. United Nations High Commissioner for
Refugees (UNHCR) published its "2022 annual
Global Trends Report" recently. The report noted
that, 100 million people were forced to go back to
their homes in 2021, due to violence, war in
Ukraine, food insecurity, human rights abuses,
climate crisis and other emergencies from Africa
to Afghanistan.
39. The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU)
recently launched its annual ranking of most
liveable cities of the world, and Global Liveability
Index for 2022. The EIU ranked 173 cities on the
basis of several criteria, including infrastructure,
political stability, availability to green space,
health care and crime rates.
40. On 27th June 2022, Prime Minister Narendra
Modi attended the G7 Summit in Germany and
asked the Group of Seven (G7) countries to
consider investing in and promoting the emerging
market for clean energy technologies in India.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz invited PM Modi
for attending G7 Summit 2022 as a partner
country.
41. India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar
and his counterpart from UK Liz Truss have
announced plans to initiate a joint "India-UK
Commonwealth Diplomatic Academy
programme". This plan was announced after their

1. India and Israel have signed a 'vision Statement'
with the aim of further deepening the long-
standing defence cooperation between both
nations. This statement was signed at a meeting
held between Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and
Benny Gantz, defence minister of Israel. Israel's
defence minister emphasized the need to invest
further in defence cooperation between both
countries.
2. On 3rd June 2022, the Indian Navy Ships
Nishank and Akshay were decommissioned, after
rendering 32 years of glorious service to India.
Decommissioning event was conducted at Naval
Dockyard in Mumbai. In the traditional ceremony,
meet at Rwanda. Under the programme, Graduates
will play a significant role in delivering
rejuvenated Commonwealth, which will be united
in support of self-determination.
42. On 28th June 2022, Prime Minister Narendra
Modi and President of United Arab Emirates
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan held
bilateral talks at Abu Dhabi. Both the leaders
reiterated their commitment to deepen and
diversify India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic
Partnership. This was the first in-person meeting
between both the leaders, since August 2019.
43. The Commonwealth group of nations drafted a
non-binding "living lands charter" under which,
the commonwealth members have decided to
voluntarily dedicate a 'living land' in their
countries for future generations. Countries have
decided to dedicate the living land, in line with the
strategy formulated for United Nations Decade on
Ecosystem Restoration.
44. The G7 grouping has announced a USD 600
billion global infrastructure programmes for poor
countries. This move was aimed at competing
with formidable Belt and Road Initiative of China.

3. Chandigarh Administration was decided to set
up a "Chandigarh IAF Heritage Centre" in

overall functioning. It will be set up jointly by the
force and Chandigarh administration.
4. On 6th June 2022, the Defence Acquisition
Council (DAC) approved the procurement of
military equipment platform from domestic
industries, of worth Rs. 76,390 Crore.
Procurement proposals were approved by DAC,
which is headed by Defence Minister Rajnath
Singh.
5. "Ex Khaan Quest-2022", a multinational
peacekeeping exercise, has commenced in
Mongolia. It will continue for 14 days. The
exercise features participation of military
contingents from 16 countries, including India. It
was inaugurated by President of Mongolia,
Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh. Indian Army is being
represented by contingent from the Ladakh
Scouts.
6. Ministry of defence recently issued gazette
notifications for amending regulations of Indian
Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force, related
to appointment of the Chief of Defence Staff. As
per notification, government may consider an
officer for this post, who is serving as Air Marshal
or Air Chief Marshal or a retired officer in the
similar ranks but below the age of 62 years on
appointment
7. Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial
Development Authority (UPEIDA) recently
signed MoUs with some banks in order to boost
investment in UP Defense Industrial Corridor.
Those banks include- State Bank of India (SBI),
Punjab National Bank (PNB), Bank of Baroda
(BOB) and Small Industries Development Bank of
India (SIDBI).
8. On 14th June 2022, Central Government
launched a new scheme called "Agnipath
Scheme", to recruit soldiers across three services.
The scheme will be implemented in immediate
effect. Recruited Soldiers will be called
"Agniveers". Under it, about 45,000 to 50,000
soldiers will be recruited annually. Most of them
will be recruited for just four years.

9. On 15 June 2022, India successfully test-fired
its nuclear capable and indigenously developed
Prithvi-II missile from Odisha, as part of user
training trial. Prithvi-II missile is a proven system
and a surface-to-surface missile. It is capable of
striking targets with high degree of precision.
10. India and other members of the Shanghai
Cooperation Organisation (SCO) have extended
their support to China-led initiative "Solidarity-
2023", in a bid to organise a joint border operation
in 2023. This was announced by Director of
Border Security Force (BSF) General Pankaj
Kumar Singh after concluding the eighth meeting
of heads of border authorities of SCO member
states.
11. The Agnipath Scheme was launched by central
government recently. The scheme aims to enrol
youths into service for four years. But it has
sparked protests in several parts of the country.
After completion of the tenure, 25% of Agniveers
will be retained or re-enlisted into regular cadre.
75% will be demobilised with an exit package
12. Stealth Frigate of Indian Navy, INS Talwar, is
currently deployed for "Op Sankalp". The frigate
is commemorating the 3rd continuous year of
presence of Indian Navy in the Gulf for protection
of Maritime Interests of India. It was started to
ensure safe passage of Indian Flag Vessels passing
through Strait of Hormuz.
13. The Multinational Peacekeeping Exercise "Ex
Khaan Quest-2022" was concluded on 20th June
2022 at "Peace Support Operations Training
Centre" in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. "Ex Khaan
Quest-2022" was conducted from 6th June to 20th
June 2022. It provided a platform for sharing best
practices and mutual learning amongst armies
from 16 Nations.
14. Eastern region of Indian Coast Guard,
inducted the indigenously designed and developed
Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Mark III on
20th June 2022. Advanced Light Helicopter is the
first aircraft of newly created "840 Squadron". It
will be positioned in the Coast Guard Region East.
15. On 24th June 2022, A vertical-launch, short-
range, surface-to-air missile (VL-SRSAM) was
successfully test-fired by Indian Navy. VL-
SRSAM was launched from a warship, off the
coast of Chandipur in Odisha. The VL-SRSAM
system has been designed for striking at high
speed airborne targets at 40 km to 50 km range
and at an altitude of 15 km.
16. The Indian Air Force is taking part in 'Tactical
Leadership Programme', that started on 24th June
2022. The Tactical Leadership Programme is
being held at Egyptian Air Force Weapon School
in Cairo west Airbase. From Indian side, two c-17
aircraft, three Su-30MKI aircraft and 57 IAF
personnel including C-17 contingent are taking
part.
17. Ministry of Defence has allowed to open BRO
Cafes soon at different sections of border roads
with Border Road Organisation (BRO). BRO
Cafes will shortly open at 75 locations in 12 states

1. In the financial year 2021 - 22, India recorded
its highest ever apparel and textiles exports which
stood at USD 44.4 billion. The exports tally also
includes handicrafts and indicates a substantial
increase of 41 percent and 26 percent in
comparison to the corresponding figures recorded
in FY21 and FY20, respectively.
2. State-owned Power Finance Corporation (PFC)
has announced that its maiden green bonds worth
300 million euros have been listed on the
Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LSE). R. S.
Dhillon, PFC Chairman and Managing Director
(CMD) rang the bell during the listing ceremony
that was held in GIFT IFSC Gujarat.
3. IIM-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has collaborated with
SFarms India, an e-marketplace for agricultural
land to develop a farm land price index that is
based on the purchases and sales done on the
platform. This index has been designed with the
aim of recording and presenting quality-controlled
data on the prices of agricultural land in India.

4. On 6 June 2022, Prime Minister Narendra
Modi launched a "national portal for credit-linked
government schemes" called "Jan Samarth
Portal". Portal was launched during the 'Iconic
Week Celebrations' of Ministry of Finance and
Ministry of Corporate Affairs at Vigyan Bhawan
in New Delhi.
5. Recently, the National Stock Exchange of India
witnessed a freak trade in weekly Nifty 50 options
and Union Territories. These cafes are aimed at
providing basic amenities and comfort to tourists.
18. On 28th 2022, Controller General of Defence
Accounts (CGDA) Rajnish Kumar, Ministry of
Defence, inaugurated the "Pay Roll Automation
for Disbursement of Monthly Allowances
(PADMA)". PADMA is an automated Pay &
Allowances module, launched for the Indian Coast
Guard. It will provide timely and seamless
disbursal of Pay & Allowances to 15,000 Indian
Coast Guard personnel.

7. On 6th June 2022 Union Government has
notified the Green Open Access Rules 2022, that
will accelerate India's renewable energy
programmes. These rules are notified to promote
generation, purchase and consumption of green
energy including the energy generated through
waste-to-energy plants.
8. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled
to inaugurate the National Tribal Research
Institute in Delhi on 7th June 2022. National tribal
Research Institute will be inaugurated as a part of
"Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" by Tribal Affairs
Ministry. During the event, an exhibition
showcasing the achievements of Ministry of
Tribal Affairs will also be displayed.
9. Government has released draft amendments to
IT Rules 2021 and sought public comments on
some amendments to it. These rules provide a
framework for content regulation by online
publishers of current affairs content and news
content, as well as curated audio-visual content.
10. Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the
Reserve Bank of India, recently decided to
increase the Policy Repo Rate by 50 basis points
to 4.9 percent in June 2022. MPC members voted
unanimously to increase rates and to continue
withdrawal of accommodative stance. According
to MPC, inflation is likely to remain above 6
percent, for the first three quarters in financial
year 2022-23.
11. State-owned National Highway Authority of
India (NHAI) has created a Guinness World
Record for longest continuously laid bituminous
lane of 75 kilometres, on national highway
between Amravati and Akola districts of
Maharashtra, in 105 hours and 33 minutes.
12. The Organisation for Economic Cooperation
and Development (OECD) has reduced India's
growth to 6.9% growth in Financial Year 2023
from 8.1% estimated earlier. Growth was also
slashed to 6.2 percent in 2023. OECD further
expects policy rate to increase to 5.3% by the end
of 2022 and remain same in 2023.
13. Department of Science and Technology (DST)
launched the "Geospatial Self-Certification Portal"
in a bid to convey adherence to provisions of
Geospatial Guidelines by individuals,
organisations, companies, and government
agencies. It is a significant step for liberalising
geospatial industry in India.
14. On 7th June 2022, Union Minister for Road
Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari
inaugurated the superstructure replacement for
Mahatma Gandhi Setu. Union Minister also laid
foundation stones for 15 National Highway (NH)
projects in Hajipur and Patna. Mahatma Gandhi
Setu was constructed with a fund of Rs. 1,742
crore.
15. On 8th June 2022, the limit of funding of
innovative defence projects was increased from Rs
10 crore to Rs 50 crore per project, under the
Technology Development Fund (TDF). Funding
has been enhanced in line with the announcement
made in Union Budget 2022-23. Union Budget
2022-23 has reserved 25% of defence R&D
budget for private industry, academia and start-
ups, in order to facilitate increased funding for
innovative TDF products.
16. On 8th June 2022, The Reserve Bank of India
(RBI) has increased the limit two times on
housing loans from cooperative banks. RBI has
also permitted the Rural Cooperative Banks
(RCB) for financing residential real estate
projects, in a bid to support affordable housing
and inclusive growth.
17. The Department of Telecommunications
(DoT), in association with public service
broadcaster Prasar Bharat, is exploring the
feasibility of a Direct-To-Mobile' (D2M)
technology. The D2M technology allows to
broadcast video and other multimedia content
directly to mobile phones, without active internet
connection.
18. On 8th June 2022, Finance Minister Nirmala
Sitharaman launched the EASE 5.0 "Common
reforms agenda" of EASE Next program.
Enhanced Access and Service Excellence (EASE)
evolved for four annual editions from Financial
Year 2019 to Financial Year 2022. It has also
catalysed reforms in diverse areas in Public Sector
Banks.
19. According to United Nations Conference on
Trade and Development (UNCTAD), India has
jumped by one position to 7th in year 2021, among
the top recipients of foreign direct investment
(FDI). UNCTAD announced in its latest World
Investment Report, which was released on 9th June
2022.
20. Central Bank of United States has announced
the biggest interest rate increase in 30 years in a
move to fight the soaring consumer prices. Central
bank has decided to increase its key interest rate
by three quarters of the percentage point, in the
range of 1.5% to 1.75%.
21. On 12th June 2022, Government of Telangana
signed an MoU with Bengaluru based Elest, to set
up India's first display fabrication unit in
Hyderabad. The display fabrication unit will be set
with an investment of Rs. 24,000 crore. It will be
set up under India Semiconductor Mission
Programme of Ministry of Electronics &
Information Technology.
22. First Train under the "Bharat Gaurav Scheme"
started from Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) to Shirdi
(Maharashtra) by Indian Railways' Southern
Railway zone. Bharat Gaurav Train started on 14th
June 2022 from Coimbatore North to Sainagar
Shirdi. It will reach Sainagar Shirdi on 16th June
2022. 1100 passengers boarded the round trip
service from Coimbatore to Shirdi.
23. Asia's Global Start-up Ecosystem Report was
recently released on 14th June 2022, in the light of
London Tech Week 2022. In the report, start-up
ecosystem in Kerala has been ranked at first
position in Asia. The report recognises creative
steps taken by Kerala Start-up Mission (KSUM)
to position it as a start-up power house.
24. On 15th June 2022, The Insolvency
Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) amended
insolvency regulations. The amended insolvency
regulations now require creditors to file
information on assets and liabilities of their
corporate debtors, as well as other relevant
financial information while undergoing the
corporate insolvency process.
25. Union Minister for Road Transport and
Highways, Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated the
"Industrial Decarbonization Summit 2022" - road
map for carbon neutrality by 2070 on 16th June
2022. During the inauguration, minister
emphasized on maintaining equilibrium between
environment, ecology and development.
26. National Standards Body "Bureau of Indian
Standards (BIS)" recently developed an Indian
Standard for "non-electric cooling cabinet made of
clay or "Mitticool refrigerator". The developed
standard is "IS 17693 : 2022". Mitticool
refrigerator has been invented by Shri Mansukh
Bhai Prajapati of Gujarat. The refrigerator uses an
environmentally friendly technology.
27. India hosted a Special ASEAN-India Foreign
Ministers' Meeting (SAIFMM) on 16th June 2022,
in order to commemorate 30 years of ASEAN-
India Dialogue Relations. Meeting was co-chaired
by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, Vivian
Balakrishnan.
28. In a notification issued on 16th June 2022, the
Union Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) has
declared IT resources of HDFC bank, ICICI Bank,
and NPCI as 'critical information infrastructure
(CII)'. According to Information Technology Act
of 2000, "Critical Information Infrastructure" is a
"computer resource". Incapacitation or destruction
of such resource have debilitating impact on
national security, public health, economy, or
public safety".
29. On 17th June 2022, the Reserve Bank of India
(RBI) released its vision on architecture of digital
finance, in a document for payments systems. The
Payments Vision 2025 document aims to provide
a safe and affordable e-payment options to every
user.
30. The Department of Telecommunication (DoT)
has amended the Production Linked Incentive
(PLI) scheme for promoting telecom and
networking products manufacturing, based on the
feedback of stakeholders. DoT has extended the
scheme by one year. It has announced an
additional 1% incentive rate, over and above the
existing rates.
31. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to
inaugurate much-awaited tunnel and six
underpasses, as a part of Pragati Maidan
Integrated Transit Corridor project, on 19th June
2022. The Transit Corridor is likely to ease traffic
for 1 lakh commuters. Corridor has been built at a
cost of Rs. 920 crore.
32. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to
dedicate 100% electrification of the Konkan
Railway (KR) route to India. He will flag off
trains on electric traction from Ratnagiri, Margao
and Udupi through video conferencing. Konkan
Railway being one of India's biggest railway
routes on Indian Railway network. On this route,
train operations with electric traction will be
implemented in a phased manner.
33. Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan,
has announced to conduct "Kerala Migration
Survey 2022 - 23", in order to prepare a data bank
on Malayali expatriates across the world. Data
bank will be prepared, because lack of data
affected the government's welfare measures for
expatriates.
34. With the adoption of "One Nation One Ration
Card (ONORC) in Assam, this scheme has
become operational in entire India. Assam became
the 36th state to adopt One Nation One Ration
Card food security scheme. With the addition of
Assam, all the 36 states and union territories have
now started issuing ration cards which will be
applicable across India.
35. On 20th June 2022 Prime Minister Narendra
Modi inaugurated the Centre for Brain Research
(CBR). The Centre for Brain Research (CBR) has
been set up at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), at
a cost of Rs. 280 crore. During the Programme,
Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for
Bagchi Parthasarathy Multispeciality Hospital. It
is 832 bedded hospital.
36. Ministry of Finance recently released its
'Monthly Economic Review' report. In the report,
Ministry has highlighted that, Fiscal Deficit and
Current Account Deficit (CAD) are two key areas
of concern for the Indian economy. Monthly
Economic Review report noted that, Fiscal deficit
has increased, possibly due to cuts in excise duties
on petrol and diesel.
37. On 21th June 2022, the first India - Nepal
Bharat Gaurav tourism train was flagged off from
Safdarjung Railway Station in Delhi. The train is
carrying 500 Indian tourists on board. It will
arrive at Janakpur Dham station in Nepal, on June
23. This tourist train will connect India and Nepal,
for the first time.
38. The Securities and Exchange Board of India
(SEBI) has set up an advisory committee on
hybrid securities, to make recommendations for
the growth of hybrid securities. The committee
will also recommend on measures focusing on
attracting domestic & global capital and ease of
issuance.
39. According to union commerce and industry
ministry, seven companies have adopted ONDC
protocols and have built their own ONDC-
compatible apps. These apps have been able to
complete the cascaded transactions successfully,
across the ONDC network during pilot phase.
40. On 23rd June 2022 Prime Minister Narendra
Modi inaugurated the new "Vanijya Bhawan".
While inaugurating the Vanijya Bhawan, he asked
the industry and exporters to fix long term export
targets for themselves as well to suggest ways to
government for achieving those goals.
41. NITI Aayog recently published its report titled
"India's Booming Gig and Platform Economy". In
its report, NITI Aayog has proposed fiscal
incentives for companies, such as tax breaks or
start-up grants. It proposed to provide incentives
for companies having one-third of their workforce
people with disabilities and women.
42. On 24th June 2022, Ministry of Road
Transport and Highways (MoRTH) approved the
Draft GSR Notification for introducing Bharat
NCAP (New Car Assessment Program), in a bid
to bring safer cars for India. The New Car
Assessment Program (NCAP) provides a
mechanism, wherein automobiles in India will be
accorded 'Star Ratings', on the basis of
performance in crash tests.
43. The South Eastern Coalfield Limited (SECL),
an undertaking of Coal India Limited (CIL), has
announced to venture into power production. For
the purpose, SECL has inked an MoU with
Madhya Pradesh Power Generation Company
Limited (MPPGCL) to set up a 660 MW unit.
This project will be started by setting up a joint
venture between SECL and MPPGCL.

45. On 24th June 2022, retired IAS officer
Parameswaran Iyer was appointed as the new
CEO of NITI Aayog, by Union Government.
Parameshwaran Iyer is a 1981 batch IAS officer
from UP cadre. He will replace Amitabh Kant and
become the third chief executive officer of the
public policy think tank of the government.
46. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has
created performance standards for batteries being
used in electric vehicles, after the recurring
incidents of fire. BIS has released standard test
specifications for lithium-ion traction battery
packs and systems (performance testing) for the
vehicles.
47. The State Bank of India published its Ecowrap
report on Income Inequality in India. India also
did well during covid-19 pandemic, with respect
to navigating income shocks across population.
There is a progressive growth in output, as
proxied by GSDP (gross state domestic product).
Thus, it is clear that, fruits of such growth have
reverberated into an inclusive growth.
48. Huge reserves of Uranium have been found at
Rohil (Khandela Tehsil) in Sikar district of
Rajasthan. With this reserve, this state has come
on the world map. It is located at around 120 km
from state capital Jaipur. After Andhra Pradesh
and Jharkhand, Rajasthan has become the third
state where uranium has been found.
49. On 28th June 2022, The Ministry of dairying
and animal husbandry launched 'One Health' pilot

1. Recently, Meta announced to roll out 'AMBER
alerts' to Instagram across 25 countries. AMBER
alerts will help users to get notifications of
missing children in the area. This feature was
already present on Meta's Facebook app since
2015, that has helped in finding hundreds of
children.
2. India's first liquid mirror telescope first came to
light in early 2022. This telescope will observe
asteroid, space debris, supernovae, and all other
celestial objects from an altitude of 2,450 metres
in Uttarakhand. It is world's first liquid-mirror
telescope, that was commissioned for astronomy.

Department of Posts. Dak Karmayogi portal has
been launched with the aim of enhancing
competencies of departmental employees and
Gramin Dak Sevaks by enabling them to access
uniform standardised content in blended campus
mode or online.
51. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of
India (FSSAI) recently decided to operationalise
standards for fortified rice kernels (FRKs).
Standards for fortified rice kernels will be
operationalised with immediate effect, in order to
strengthen national-level fortification programme
in India.
52. Chief Minister of Telangana K. Chandrasekhar
Rao is scheduled to inaugurate the new facility of
business incubator T-Hub on 28th June in
Hyderabad. The T-Hub 2.0 has been set up at
Raidurg in Hitec City. It has been constructed
with total built-up area of more than 5.82 lakh
square feet. It is thus the largest innovation
campus worldwide.
Other liquid-telescopes were previously built
either to track satellites or were used for military
purposes.
3. On 6th June 2022, India successfully carried
night launch of nuclear-capable Agni-4 ballistic
missile. It was launched from A. P. J. Abdul
Kalam Island in Odisha. Agni-4 ballistic missile
has a range of around 4,000 kilometres. It marks
significant boost to India's military capabilities.
4. Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant,
launched the "Beach Vigil App", by keeping in
light the tourism sector and beaches of Goa. The
app was launched with the aim of benefiting
travellers as well as those working in tourism
sector. It aims to holistically manage the beaches.
5. Researchers from Indian Institute of Science
(IISc) Bangalore have developed a new class of
artificial peptides or mini-proteins, that can
inactivate the viruses like SARS-CoV-2. This
study was published in Nature Chemical Biology
journal. Mini-proteins will block virus entry into
our cells. It will also clump virus particles
together by reducing ability of virus to infect.
6. On 6th June 2022, the Information Data Systems
(IDS) launched Bharat Blockchain Network which
is an Academic Blockchain Consortium &
Polyversity which is an Educational Metaverse.
Bharat Blockchain Network and Polyversity was
launched in the presence of Minister for Education
Dharmendra Pradhan and AICTE officials during
an event organised at AICTE Auditorium.
7. The Gaia Space Observatory of European Space
Agency recently detected several "starquakes",
which were similar to tsunami-like earthquakes.
Gaia Space Mission was launched in 2013. It
studies the Milky Way. The mission has created a
map of galaxy. It has revealed new information
regarding stars and their chemical composition
including the colour, temperature, age and
brightness level of stars.
8. Indian Institute of Technology Madras has
developed a robot called to clean septic tanks and
eliminate manual scavenging in India. It is all set
to be deployed in field. A total of ten robots are
planned to be deployed across Tamil Nadu.
Researchers are in touch with sanitation workers
for identifying locations.
9. A giant tortoise, which was found alive in 2019,
has now been confirmed to belong to a Galapagos
species long believed extinct. The giant species
has been named Fernanda, because Fernandina
Island is home to species. The tortoise is the first
of her species called Chelonoidis phantasticus,
that has been identified in more than a century.
10. Astronomers have detected a signal from a
galaxy, which is around 3 billion light years away.
This signal is called "Fast Radio Burst (FRB)".
Mysterious Fast Radio Burst have been detected
for the second time ever. The Burst is said to be
"co-located with a compact and persistent radio
source.
11. On 13th June 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture
unveiled India's first Covid-19 vaccine
"Anocovax" for animals. Vaccine has been
developed by Hisar-based National Research
Centre on Equines. It can protect animals against
Delta and Omicron variants of coronavirus. The
vaccine can be used in dogs, leopards, mice, lions
and rabbits.
12. Recently, Children in Street Situations (CiSS)
App was launched by 'National Commission for
the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR)' for the
rehabilitation of children. This app was launched
under Baal Swaraj portal, in order to help in
rehabilitation process of Children in Street
Situations.
13. Recently, a woman died in United States due
to infection of tick-borne Powassan virus. She was
in her 90s. She is the second person to test
positive for Powassan virus in 2022. Powassan
virus is a Flavivirus, which is transmitted by ticks.
This virus is found in North America and Russian
Far East. It is named after the town of Powassan,
Ontario. In Powassan town, this virus was first
identified in 1958, for the first time.
14. The Army Training Command (ARTRAC) has
announced to establish a 5G Testbed in
association with the Indian Institute of
Technology (IIT) - Madras. The 5G test bed for
Army Training Command will be established at
Military College of Telecommunication at Mhow
in Indore.
15. Iran recently launched a solid-fuelled rocket
named "Zuljanah" into space. Zuljanah is a 25.5
meter long, Iranian Satellite Launch Vehicle. It is
capable of carrying a payload or satellite of 220
kilogram, into the orbit situated at 500 kilometres
above the Earth. This satellite will gather data in
low-earth orbit as well as promote Iran's space
industry.
16. On 17th June 2022 China launched its third
aircraft carrier, named "Fujian" in a bid to extend
the range of its navy in Indo-Pacific region. The
newly launched aircraft carrier is most advanced
and first "fully domestically built" naval vessel. It
was launched at a brief ceremony, at Shanghai's
Jiangnan Shipyard.
17. According to a study led by scientists from
Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and
Palaeoanthropology (IVPP) of Chinese Academy
of Sciences, middle ear of human has evolved
from fish gills. Middle ear of human houses three
tiny, vibrating bones. It helps in transporting

18. On 22nd June 2022 Indian Oil Corporation
(IOC) unveiled its patented indigenous solar cook
top called Surya Nutan. Surya Nutan has been
developed by Faridabad R&D centre of the oil
refiner (IOC). The solar cook top will aid in
reducing CO2 emissions of India drastically and
keep its citizens insulated from high international
fossil fuel prices.
19. On 23rd June India launched its GSAT-24
satellite, that has been built by ISRO for New
Space India Limited (NSIL). GSAT-24 satellite
was launched on Ariane 5 space launch vehicle,
by French company Arianespace. It was launched
from Kourou in French Guiana, in South America.
20. Indian Institute of Science (IISc) have
developed a new Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)
based machine learning algorithm. The new
Algorithm is called RaAl-LiFE (Regularized,
Accelerated, Linear Fascicle Evaluation). It can
help scientists in understanding and predicting
connectivity between different regions of brain, in
a better manner.
21. Indian Space Promotion and Authorisation
Centre (IN-SPACe) has now allowed the private
space sector launches in India and has started
authorising Indian private firms. Participation of
private sector is being encouraged in space sector,
so that, ISRO could concentrate on essential
activities such as research & development,
strategic use of space and planetary exploration
and free itself from ancillary or routine work
which private industries could take up easily.
22. Scientists have discovered a giant white
bacterium named "Thiomargarita magnifica
Bacteria" on rotting leaves in saline waters of red
mangrove swamp in Guadeloupe in Lesser
Antilles. The average bacterium is usually
between ~0.4 and 3 μm3 in volume. Thus, it is
only visible with powerful compound microscope,
that use multiple objective lenses.
23. A cloud-based security company, Lookout,
recently discovered a new spyware called
"Hermit". Hermit spyware is capable of affecting
Android and iOS devices. As per TechCrunch
report, Lookout's security researchers have
informed that, national governments have used the
android version of Hermit spyware in "targeted
attacks", with victims in Kazakhstan and Italy.
 Government Schemes
1. The National Health Authority (NHA) launched
a public dashboard for real-time information under
its scheme Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission
(ABDM). This public dashboard will be utilized
as a one stop solution to finding out information
regarding the mission's progress at the state level.
2. On 1st June 2022, the Har Ghar Dastak 2.0
campaign began across the nation to ensure that
all eligible beneficiaries receive complete Covid-
19 vaccination. This campaign gives special focus
on the vaccination of those aged between 12 to 14
and precaution doses for those above the age of
60. This is a two-month-long door-to-door
campaign that will go on from 1st June to 31st July
2022.
3. The Union Cabinet has expanded the scope of
the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) to allow
cooperative societies to register as buyers on this
portal. This decision will help the cooperatives of
the nation to get competitive prices via a
transparent and open process. Due to this decision,
over 8,54,000 registered cooperatives along with
their 270 million members will be benefitted.
4. On 3rd June 2022, the National Health
Authority (NHA) announced that government's
'eSanjeevani' telemedicine service has been
integrated with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.
This integration will help existing eSanjeevani
users to easily create their Ayushman Bharat
Health Account (ABHA).
5. The SHRESHTHA scheme was launched by
Union Minister for Social Justice and
Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar on 3rd June
2022. This scheme was launched for Scheduled
Castes, as they have faced historical injustices in a
hierarchical based society and education is the
most powerful tool to empower them as a
community.
6. The Unique Identification Authority of India
(UIDAI) is set to roll out 'door-to-door Aadhaar
seva". For this purpose, around 48,000 postmen
are being trained. UIDAI is training the postmen
of India Post Payment Bank, to go door to door
across India and link Aadhaar number with mobile
number, update details as well as conduct
enrolment of children at doorstep.
7. Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has
launched a scheme called "Sagarmala Young
Professional Scheme", in a bid to engage talented,
dynamic and forward-thinking young
professionals in different divisions of the
Ministry. Sagarmala Young Professional scheme
focuses on active on-the-ground learning for
young professionals.
8. Ministry of Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship has decided to organise Pradhan
Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela every
month onwards. Pradhan Mantri National
Apprenticeship Mela will be organised with the
aim of connecting youth with more opportunities
to provide on-ground training within corporates. It
will also increase chances of getting employed.
9. The 'Ayurveda Aahar' logo was launched on 7th
June 2022 by Health Minister Mansukh
Mandaviya, on the occasion of World Food Safety
Day. The Ayurveda Aahar Logo will allow for
easy identification. Thus, it will help in creating a
unique Identity of 'Ayurveda Aahar'. The logo will
also reinforce the quality of Ayurvedic products.
10. India's first ever girl Panchayat, called "Balika
Panchayat", was started in several villages of
Kutch district in Gujarat. The Balika Panchayat
Initiative was started with the aim of promoting
social and political development of girls as well as
ensure active participation of girls in politics.
11. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. K. Stalin
launched the "Ennum Ezhuthum Scheme" in state,
as schools re-opened after summer vacation. This
scheme was launched to bridge the learning gap
among students aged under 8, caused as a result of
COVID-19 pandemic. It aims to ensure
foundational numeracy and literacy by 2025.
12. "Use of ICT in PM e-Vidya scheme" by
Ministry of Education won UNESCO's
recognition, called King Hamad Bin Isa Al-
Khalifa Prize recently. PM eVIDYA programme
was launched by Ministry of Education, as part of
'Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan' by in May 2020.
The programme unifies all efforts associated to
digital, on-air, online education, in order to enable
multi-mode access for imparting education using
technology to minimise learning losses.

1. Former chief minister of Karnataka S. M.
Krishna, founder of Infosys & IT industry veteran
N. R. Narayana Murthy, as well as former
badminton player Prakash Padukone, were
selected for Kempegowda International Award
2022". This announcement was made by Higher
Education Minister of Karnataka, C. N. Ashwath
Narayan. He is the Vice-President of Nadaprabhu
Kempegowda Heritage Area Development
Authority.
2. Recently, 2nd edition of "Awards for Excellence
in District Skill Development Planning 2022" was
organized at Dr Ambedkar International Centre.

3. Several Ministries or Departments or Agencies
of Government of India have instituted various
civilian awards, for recognizing people who have

Departments or Agencies under one digital

4. Ruchira Kamboj has been appointed as the next
Permanent Representative of India to the United
Nations. She is currently Indian ambassador to
Bhutan. Ruchira Kamboj will succeed T. S.
Tirumurti. She is likely to take up assignment
soon. Ruchira Kamboj joined the Indian Foreign
Service in 1987.
13. An Innovative project called "National
Initiative for Promoting Upskilling of Nirman
workers (NIPUN) was launched on 20th June 2022
by Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs,
Hardeep Singh Puri. The NIPUN Initiative was
launched for skill training of 1,00,000
construction workers.
5. Residents of Puri had moved the High Court
alleging that, structural safety of 800 year old
Jagannath Temple could be in danger, if land
surrounding the temple were dug up. They also
allege that, state government has insulted the
devotees by demolishing mutts in order to clear
roads to Shri Jagannath temple. These roads were
closely linked with different rituals of 12th century
shrine because of ongoing Srimandir Parikrama
Project.
6. First National Logistics Excellence Awards was
hosted by Government of India in New Delhi.
