After gathering documents to incorporate into my portfolio, I realized how much work I
have completed in the College of Education at Texas Christian University (TCU). These
assignments provide insight into my time at TCU and the number of educational standards I have
completed thus far. My passion for education has been documented through my portfolio, as I
can highlight all the work I have done, explain my individualized teaching experiences, and
document my hard work. I appreciate the resources and experiences I was able to have received
future educator, as I have done much work to help me prepare for my future. I want my students
to understand that I am also learning and have had experiences as a student. I want them to
realize that I do not know all the answers, but I am indeed a lifelong learner. I needed help
selecting artifacts for my portfolio as I found it challenging to pick artifacts that best fit the
aligned standard. However, the selection process made me realize how much work I have done in
my four years at TCU and how much I have learned about education. I have so much respect for
teachers and a deeper understanding of how much they do to help their students be as successful
as possible.
Although the selection progress was challenging, I also felt excited knowing that I could
have multiple artifacts for each standard. I was proud of the work I had accomplished and
thought I could show off everything I had had the opportunity to do during my college
experience. I was surprised at how much my work had improved from my first year. I selected
multiple lesson plans I had created that I am excited to use in my future classroom. In
conclusion, this portfolio allowed me to demonstrate all my hard work and made me aware of all
the standards I displayed in my artifacts during my time at TCU. I am grateful for the
opportunity to have all my work in one place on a website that I am excited for people to view.
