Reaction Paper on SECRETS from Kobe Bryant’s & Michael Jordan's Trainer on Building an UNBEATABLE

MINDSET | Tim Grover - YouTube

This video introduced me to Tim Grover, a businessman, motivational speaker, and personal trainer.
Grover is recognized as the trainer of the most elite, iconic athletes in the world, including the late Kobe
Bryant, Dwyane Wade, and Michael Jordan.

These are the takeaways I learned from the video.

What is winning? As Tim describes it, winning is not about the trophy and accolades but the grind, the
obstacles, challenges, and pain that you endure along the way for that 30-second acknowledgment are
you willing to do it again? This is true but not most people understand this as society sets the standard
that if you reach something positive, like being the top employee, or first in your classroom are the
winner and those at the back are losers or simply not good enough. This is a very doo video to learn how
to define winning and setting the right mindset in order to reach a certain goal. Tim is giving us another
meaning of winning that really makes sense, at least to me anyway.

Tim added that, in order to know how to win you need to know how to lose. After you lose, stay for a
minute, hours, or days, understand why you lost, why you got knockout. When you stood up you are
different, you are stronger, confident, and resilient. If you lose, then you stand back up without any
change from the day you lose, you will just be the same.

When you look in the mirror, you can only see what’s on the surface not the deeper part of yourself why
you want to win. Weaknesses that allow you to be unique. Recognize your weaknesses and find
individuals around you that your weaknesses are their strengths. Turn your weakness into strength, and
find an individual that can help you do it.

You must do the process; you take the emotions out of it. These are necessary in order to get to the
result. If you let emotions get in the way, you will not be able to complete what needs to be done. The
human mind subconsciously rewards for the pursuit of improvement and subconsciously feels sad,
empty unworthy in the event of failure.

We win every single day, our ability to see, process, and understand those wins, that what keeps you
focused and alive. Winning has different forms, raising your kids, being able to get your message out to
individuals, being a teacher, and not letting your student get behind.

Lastly, this is a recommended video to watch and very inspiring. If you watched the whole clip, it will
make you realize that every day you win some and you lose some. In the event of failing, take your time
to understand why you failed, and what needs to be done to win or reach your goal, then find the right
people who can help you complete your target. Learn from your failures, get back up, and try again.
