The right mouse button will close a room back to the starting point (red cross on the plan).
If you left click one corner and then right click the opposite corner a rectangular room it will be estimated.
You can only use the Left, Right click procedure if the room is square to the screen.
The mouse roller ball zooms in and out, set the sensitivity on the tool bar, position the pointer before zooming.

Finishes Menu:

1. Click the Finishes Menu, then click the Materials Option.

2. Click the Add button to add all the materials on the job.
3. Be sure to enter Floor, base, wall materials along with transitions, stair treads and
thresholds. Color code the floor materials with light colors.

You can create Master sheets by pre-entering standard materials and assigning colors.
Export the Materials file as something like Master1.mtrl, Walmart Master.mtrl , or
Daltile.mtrl, Schluter.mtrl. Then you can import these materials to any job.

When you receive a new project, open Estimat-All on the finished – Materials window open
the Master1.mtrl file then click on the Color Code name (i.e. CPT1) and click the Edit button
to add the Mfg., Material Description, width, type of material, seaming options, etc.

Note: You do not need to remove materials that are not on the current job, if they have no
quantity then they do not transfer to the Excel sheet.
Once these materials are entered, they become available on the Schematic screen for take-
off of the rooms in drop down boxes.

To change a Color Code, click on the

color code to be changed, then right click,
click the Change Color Code option,
type in the new color code and click OK.

Count items (i.e., 4ft Stair Treads) can be entered. The size of these items means the size
of the box to display on the schematic. For example 4ft ST might be set up as 6 in by 6 in
then they will display as a box on the Schematic.
Light colors are good for the floor finishes, dark colors for the Base, walls and transitions.
Count items will be placed on Schematic from the upper left corner.

Custom Walls:

By clicking the Finishes menu option you can create Custom Walls.

It is easier to create the

walls if all the materials
have been pre-entered in
the Finishes.

The Wall Code is the

designator that will show up
in the drop down menu
while you are doing a take-
off in the schematic screen.

An example might be W48,

for a 48” high half wall.
You can enter a description
of the wall. (i.e. Half wall in
1st floor baths).

Wall Height (Inches)

designates the height that the wall cannot exceed.

Choose a Display Color, typically a darker color to contrast to the lighter floor colors.

To create the wall:

1. Start by clicking the Add Material button, you

will be prompted to choose a material you have
entered on the Material screen.
2. You will be prompted for the Height in Inches
for this material, here I entered 6” for the CT1
base, 40“ for the CT1 Wall Tile, and 2” for the CT1 bull nose, creating a 48 in high wall.
3. When you are taking off rooms on the schematic screen you can choose W48 for the 1st
floor bathrooms, the walls will be colored with the Display Color, and all the pieces will be
automatically figured when you export to Excel, and displayed on the Costs sheet.

From your elevations page(s) you can create a custom wall for each different scenario.

Accent tiles and Listellos may also be entered, if they are set up as square feet, then you will
get square feet on the Costs sheet, if they are entered as Linear feet then they will be
reported that way.

Note: The Custom Wall function can be used to calculate, paint, drywall, wall paper, etc.

Takeoff Tab:

When you click the New button on the Takeoff tab

in the schematic window, any materials that are
labeled Linear are available as Base/Wall.
Enter Description (room, numbers or letters) then
choose the Floor Color from the drop down then
choose the Base/Wall from the drop down and click
Add.
Then left click all the corners of the room, right
click to close the room (fills in color in the room),
then hit the Floor + (1,2,3,6 or 9) button to add the waste for the tile and area rooms.

Before you hit the Done button, you can Place Doors, change Base or Wall, and add or remove
Base or Wall.

+ Base/Walls: Before hitting Done, click on and part of the drawing (i.e.
Wall), pick the Base or Wall to Add, then click the + Base/Wall button. It
will color the drawing and the segment(s) will be added to the existing
room. If you add Base/Wall for another room and you delete this room
that Base/Wall will also be deleted

Place Doors: Click the Place doors button and click on the wall segment
where the door goes. One click will removes the Base/Wall material in a
counter clockwise fashion. If there is wall tile on that wall, only the tile,
base or bull nose will be removed up to the door height (default 80”). If you
have added Transition Strip to your material list, and you choose that from
the drop down under the Place Doors button, then the Estimat-All program
will remove the base/wall and replace it with the transition strip.

Edit Base/Walls: To change or remove

wall segments click this button, left click
the wall segment (corner squares
appear), Right click the segment and
Deletes elected to remove, Change
Material to pick a different material, or Change Like Material to change all
segments in the room. If you need to remove multiple Base\Wall
segments, left click the segment and hit the Delete Key on keyboard.

If you are taking off a room that has multiple Base or Wall finishes, it may
be best to choose <none> as the Base/Wall option. Then go back and +
Base/Wall individually.
If you have placed a door incorrectly, you must remove the wall segment
and redo that segment, then redo the Door.

When all is correct hit Done. If you are not in the New Button (Add Rooms)
mode, you can right click any room and edit the room.

Note: The check boxes on the left bottom of the On Screen Tab will allow
you to stop displaying the Colored Rooms, the Colored Walls or the PDF
image.

Room Data:

From the main screen in Estimat-All, the Room Data menu is at the top. By clicking the Room
Data Menu a breakdown for all rooms, material and Base appears.

Click on the room name and you can see all the material for that room. A wall (segment) list
follows with the material name and quantities. If it is a Custom Wall all the materials on that wall
type are displayed.

All materials net quantity and

gross quantity are displayed on
the Finishes, Material menu. The
breakdown of Doors and corners
can be found by hitting
the Sum button on the
Main screen. After
exporting to the SST_Master
Excel sheet, the complete room by
room breakouts are listed there.

The One Click button is on the schematic screen next to the Floor + buttons.
By clicking the One Click button you have the ability to take off rooms with just one click.
Rooms needs to be a rectangle running square to the screen (horizontal & vertical).

To Start One Click:

1. First you must click New Room or hit the “N” shortcut key.
2. Enter the room number, Floor Material, Base material and hit Add.
3. Click the One-Click Button or hit the “Q” shortcut key.
4. Find a spot in the room where the big cursor is touching the sides and top walls.
5. There cannot be any writing or extraneous lines in the way.
6. Then left click the mouse and the room will fill with color.
7. If you click in a wrong spot, just move the mouse and click again until you have the entire
room colored in with the floor material.
8. If you find that the room cannot be One-Clicked successfully, simple click the One-Click
button or hit the “Q” shortcut key to exit One-Click mode and take the room off the same
as before (left click – right click opposite corners or left click all corners).

Keep in mind that One-Click does not work with rooms that are:

Not square to the screen.

Not a rectangle
Have angled walls

Since many plans have extraneous lines and dots, we have an algorithm that will
remove them. The “50” box with the up and down arrows, removes lines that are
in a gray scale usually lighter than the wall lines. You can adjust this percentage
up or down with the arrows. In some instances, this will allow you to One-Click
thru obstacles in the way. The Show Effect button will show you the plan with
these lines and dots removed.

We are currently working on One-Click to handle odd shaped rooms and to ignore some
dimension lines. Because you are not clicking specific points in a room or in a wall adjacent to
the room One-Click is finding the perfect corner to the room. One-Click is extremely fast and
accurate at any zoom level.
