Respected Sir,

I, Nikita Bhagat, a Ph.D. research scholar under the AICTE National Doctoral Fellowship
program in the Department of Civil Engineering, is working under the guidance of Dr M. S.
Ranadive on the project entitled “Development of Semi-Circular Bending (SCB) Fracture test
for bituminous mixtures”. For this project a funding of Rs. 5,00,000/- was sanctioned under the
interdisciplinary minor research project out of which Rs. 50,000/- and 85000/- has already been
used for fabrication of SCB assembly and cryogenic bath respectively. The project work
includes fabrication as well as purchase of equipment parts.

The item (Asphalt Cutter) that needs to be procured costs approximately Rs. 98000/- inclusive of
GST.

Therefore, I request you to kindly allow to proceed with procurement of the item on
departmental level.
