= S + have/has PII + for ‘khoảng thời gian’/since ‘mốc thời gian’.

Helen started playing the cello 10 years ago.

= Helen has played the cello for 10 years.

Helen started to play the cello when she was 5 years old.

= Helen has played the cello since she was 5 years old.

2. S + last + V-ed + ‘khoảng thời gian’ ago: lần cuối làm gì vào khi nào

= S + have/has not PII + for ‘khoảng thời gian’/since ‘mốc thời gian’
 = It’s + ‘khoảng thời gian’ + since + S + last + V-ed.

= The last time + S + V-ed + was ‘khoảng thời gian’ ago.

I last went abroad 2 years ago.

= I haven’t gone abroad for 2 years.

= It’s 2 years since I last went abroad.

= The last time I went abroad was 2 years ago.

3. This is/It is + the first time + S + have/has PII: lần đầu làm gì

= S have/has never PII before.

= S have/has not PII before.

This is the first time Peter and Bell have flown to Seul.

= Peter and Bell have never flown to Seul before.

= Peter and Bell haven’t flown to Seul before.

4. This is + the most adj/the adj-est N + S + have/has (ever) PII.

= S + have/has never PII + such a/an adj N.

= S + have/has never PII + a + adj-er/ more adj N than this one.

This is the longest movie Nam has (ever) watched.

= Nam has never watched such a long movie.

= Nam has never watched a longer movie than this one.
