Task 1 6.0
The given tables illustrate the population and distribution of the
whole world from 1950 to 2000 and provide projections for 2050.
Overall, it is clear that the world population followed an upward
trend while the distribution of the world from most areas was
unstable throughout the period.
The population of the world rose remarkably from 1950 to 2000, and
it is estimated to increase up to 9.0 billion in 2050. In addition, Asia's
distribution consistently ranked first which occupied over half of the
world's total distribution. It was standing at 56% in 1950 and
increased to 60% in 2000 with the prediction that would remain
stable to 2050.
Both Europe and North America decreased throughout this period
and vice versa in Africa and Latin America. The figure for
Europe's distribution witnessed a twofold decrease from 22% in 1950
to 12% in 2000, and it is predicted to drop to 7% in 2050. The
distribution of North America experienced a gradual decrease from
7% to 5% in 2000, with a projection for 2050 is 4%. In contrast,
Africa and Latin America had a slight increase of 3% from 6% and 4%
from 9% in 2000. Both of these areas are predicted to stay
unchanged in 2050. Oceania is the one that had the least
contribution with under 1% in 1950 And reached 1% in 2000 and its
prediction figure is still unchanged in 2050.
